I noticed an order mistake in the hof table viewer when people have the same score:
http://hof.civfanatics.net/civ5/tabl...er=9&submit=Go

(just an idea: maybe it's secondarily sorted after earliest date (that would only work for games that do not finish BC ) instead of earliest finish turn?)

khrax - 1872 AD, Turn 206, 1975 points, Deity, Culture, Quick, Duel, Archipelago, Siam (Ramkhamhaeng)
This is pretty insane!
Gotta be frustrating to play such a perfect game and then being beaten anyway in the same update

I am sorry that you think I am attacking you, it is more a case of picking up gold medals where ever I can! As you are aware, these score games are very time consuming and we have to pick and choose very carefully.

I am infact following the advice that you were kind enough to suggest a couple of weeks back!

I however felt like 'attacking' after the following statement :

Then again I didn't exactly look after your medals either. Just generally grabbing medals here and there (like TractorBoy), where I know I can actually make #1 to prevent wasting my time.
With the few deity gold medals in this update, I was basically able to double up my points! Now 4th overall

I do feel sorry for Peets because he is a true civ fanatic and he is enjoying what ever notoriety comes his way. His score games are rarely less than ten hours play, but more often than not they are twenty hours! I fear that Peets will end up being a bigger loser than ColinTH in the aftermarth of the scoring change.

I was checking out the amount of time it takes to play different types of games and found this.

1. Archipelago Duel Deity or any other level Culture (date) victory (Gold) average play time 1 1/2 hrs. Dribnarb is completing them in 45 mins, basically the method used is set in stone and almost robotic!

As you well know, the score version is a different kettle of fish and takes at least five times as long. This type of game is not very popular because of the amount of effort and uncertainty required to make the commitment. From what I can see there are only a few people on the HOF site who have made the effort, I list "the few" in order of first attempt.

Peets, Khrax, ColinTH, FeiLing and TractorBoy.

All of the above guys are fully aware of the skills and effort required to play these games at the top level (competing against each other whether settler or Deity is top level) and although I don't see it as a waste of time, it sure as hell can be dissapointing to end up with .3 of a point for ten hours of effort on the settler level!

I think I would have a good chance of beating every one of ColinTH's settler duel score games, but would it really be worth the commitment with the current scoring system?

If it's any consolation to Peets, I see him as the last of the Mowhicans and if he enters some score games as the Iroquis, I promise to keep the peace, perhaps we should participate in a peace pipe to make this promise binding!

I won't be a loser
Though I'll play less soon when GW2 comes out but I enjoy this a lot
I will keep having fun even if I loose all my gold medals.
I will cry for a minute though

i find score games way too tedious, and there's really no variation between the win conditions.

I find restarting a duel dom game over and over way to tedious, but this is something you guys are prepared to do in order to top the leader board or win a gauntlet.

Whilst we are on the subject of what you find tedious, and ofcourse you are entitled to your opinion (thanks for the input it was very enlightening). I played golf with a friend yesterday, and we decided to play five holes and hit five balls each of the tee, take the best drive and hit five balls from there, once on the green hit five puts from the closest and we both finnished at five under par from handicaps of 7 and 12. This is pretty much what you guys are doing to attain the scores you post on domination games, well I hope you are proud of yourselves, I would find it tedium to the extreme!

Due to workers not working and units not finding the correct path (post patch glitches), my usual long score games have become unplayable, as a result I am now tinkering with the type of games metioned in the above.
Vexing, Khrax, ColinTH and Feiling watch out - this is like taking candy from a baby!

One of the Roman Emporers once said "Give me back my Legions", and I say - Never mind the Legions but give me back my workers!
With thousands of different game combinations available we all have our prefered play styles and OK I might be odd but I like to play Warlord or Prince level standard size map with the aim of owning every single tile. I have not enjoyed the last ten days of my CivV playing time, now I am seriously thinking about packing the game up until the bug is fixed. Maybe after a prolonged absence I might find something else for entertainment!

Goodbye and Good Luck to all.
