As soon as Mitt Romney is elected he should initiate back channel discussions with the Israeli government to pave the way for Israel to become the 51st state of the United States of America.

This is the only way to prevent the coming Israeli-Islamist War, which threatens to engulf the entire world.

Once political union with the US is achieved, Jerusalem should be proclaimed an open city, albeit a weapons and privacy free zone for security purposes.

This will allow freedom of worship for all.

Statehood should include all occupied and disputed territories and citizenship and the full rights as enumerated in the Constitution would be bestowed upon all people dwelling there.

I would encourage everyone here to support this solution to the world's foremost security problem.

yes ... i can just see israel adopting the US Constitution... think of all the Americans who could go back to their homeland ... and with the right to bear arms...

I don't think you have thought this through....

So the only way to dismiss claims of imperialism and the whole Great Satan thing is to do exactly that? Interesting.

Israel is a third-world hellhole in the making and would substantially weaken te US economy and contribute to it's downfall.
I'm all for it :goodjob:.

How did we get bumped from our rightful place in the queue?
Your rightful place would still be behind the UK.

The USA should gain Argentina as the 51st state. Then both nations can conspire to conquer the Falklands and find news ways to harm Britain using the Churchill bust.

So this is what evangelical pornography looks like.

America can literally contain holy land at long last.

Here I was expecting to find an intellectually stimulating discussion of the pros and cons of Puerto Rico becoming the next state.

The "cancerous tumour" of Israel is the biggest problem confronting Muslim countries today, Iran's supreme leader said on Sunday, repeating an epithet slammed just days earlier by UN chief Ban Ki-moon and US and EU officials.

In a speech marking Eid al-Fitr, the end of the Muslim holy month of Ramadan, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei said "the big powers have dominated the destiny of the Islamic countries for years and... installed the Zionist cancerous tumour in the heart of the Islamic world," according to the official IRNA news agency.

"Many of the Islamic world's problems come from the existence of the sham Zionist regime," he was quoted as saying.

The "tumour" characterisation was a repeat of terms Khamenei and President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad have long used to portray Israel as an illegitimate state in the Middle East that will inevitably disappear.

Israel and its ally, the United States, accuse Iran of seeking to develop an atomic arsenal.

Tehran denies that, and says its nuclear programme is exclusively peaceful. Its military chiefs warn they will destroy Israel if it attacks.

On Saturday, General Amir Ali Hajizadeh, the head of the aerospatial division of the Revolutionary Guards that is in charge of Iran's missiles, said: "Iran's response to any aggression will be rapid, firm, destructive and broad."

He said he welcomed Israel making such a move, as "that would be a good occasion and good pretext to put an end to the shameful existence of the sham, occupying and usurping regime and save humanity from this cancerous tumour."

Sticking one's head in the sand will not make this problem go away. Morsi canned the senior chiefs of the Eygptian Army and installed Islamists. You'd have to be blind not to see whats coming.

Great, does that mean we can have Israel's universal health care system then?

How many representatives would Israel get if they joined up? A dozen? I bet we'd end up with two Democratic senators and at least 9 or 10 Dem reps haha

I think a better idea would be for the U.S. to be Israel's seventh district. :D

Seriously, though, ain't gonna happen.
