New month, new mods! Even though we all had summer holidays, the modding community was still active.
While we have still some files, some other important things have happened in the community.
First, we have again two new subforums for bigger moddings projects: Gedemon got for his R.E.D. WW2 mod a subforum, and chrome-rome, Horem and FiresForever have also their own for the Community Call to Power mod. Congrats guys. We hope that you can fill these forums with some life and that you produce many, many updates .
Another major step in Civ5 modding has also been accomplished this month: New resources can be added. Improvements were already achieved a bit earlier, but now the modders can also add new resources, and we already have timber and the luboric resouce from Empire Of The Smokey Skies available for the normal game. Now not much is missing anymore to turn Civ5 into something completely else.
And also important for the modders: We'll get a Lua API. DonQuiche has taken the major task to document all the Lua commands in our Modiki (thanks man ), which will sure make Lua modding easier. In case anyone wants to contribute something, e.g. for the style of the documentation, then please comment here.
But now back to the actual files this month. Hulfgar has again updated his mods and has added quite some things, and Moaf has updated the Cultural Capitals mod for Gods & Kings. And we got also another member of the always desired speed balance mods, so if you want that research is even slower than on Marathon, then check the slower research mod out.
And we sure also have again units from bernie14 and danrell, and they are as excellent as usual. Thanks for your great work guys .
But they are not the only ones, jpbar81 added a small mod with galleys for all civ to our database.
Else sukritact expanded his mercantile mod with even more resources, thadian and Tophor put some thoughts in the game regarding the palace, and we also got two new worldmaps.
So overall a good month, and I'm sure that some of the bigger mods didn't announce their updates, so it's sure worth the time to check if your beloved mod has not maybe gotten a bigger update .
And it also seems that the future is promising. In case you ask why: Putmalk has a nice total conversion in the making (searching testers here), and the coming WW2 mod by ww2commander looks also interesting with these board game style unit replacements.
We also heard a bit back from Rhye, he's also working.
Everyone's busy making Civ5 even better .
So don't let that be a waste, and check the mods out . Happy civving .
