Pros and cons of PTW
Hi there i am sure this has been posted many many times but could not find it. I am thinking about getting PTW, but i am wondering if it is worth it. I have read that PTW makes some things worse and some better and was just wanting to hear some opinions. thanks

If you ask me it makes everything better!
Although I'm 'indiferant' about the new espionage screen, Yeah, buy it!

If you want mulitplayer then you have to buy it
![]() For single player games then the additional civs and improvements do make the game a little better and more interesting - plus PTW will have patches original CIV III wont anymore. For single player it depends on if the additions are worth the money to you....and PTW is getting cheaper now.. I bought it and thinks it worth it

PTW is definitely a must buy, a lot of the extra features are great. Having the extra civs, new units and the ability to play MP is nice too, although you could always add in the extra units by yourself and what not.
The only con I can think about PTW is the lagginess in MP, although I hope it will be fixed in the very near future. |

if you like to play either: scenarios/maps/multiplayer/mods, then you should buy it.

To piggyback on what Yoda Power said: if you like to play Civ3, then you should buy PTW.

The editor in PTW is much superior to the editor in vanilla Civ3.

I only play single player.
Pro: It is what CivIII should have been out of the box. I like PTW much better than CivIII. Con: It is like paying twice for the same game. I paid full price for both of them. If it's getting cheap, and you at least kinda liked CivIII, it is a definite buy! |

I strictly play singleplayer, and have found the SP enhancements to be worth my $30. I know that many may beg to differ, but when one considers entertainment costs these days, it is a bargain. I have enjoyed PTW for over 4 months now for $30. Compared to a DVD or a movie ticket, I think the investment is worth it. It really comes down to whether or not you are a true CivFanatiC. I feel that no true CivFanatiC should be without it.

Here's one way to put it:
Stealth bombers now bomb with a range of 12.

It could be a million times better, but has nothing worse compared to the original...
