Whats the thing that Indians attacks your cities altough U have good relations with same tribe which attacked you. After Indian attack I´m going to punish them and they just "wave happily to you"

often times if you encroach uppon their territory too much, such as, brong artillaries up, they will attack you. or if they were bribed by another nation. i think the best way to keep up your relations with them is trade them trade goods up the wasoo. you get a buttload o profit

First, read the manual. An Indian village isn't one unit it's made up of differnt types of people. The chief may want to maintain good relations but some of the 'braves' want to make war. Which they do sometimes without his consent. He then disiplines them or they get killed in the raid so relations improve.
Green !!! means the village in happy. Red !!! means they're about to attack. To make a village happier send a missionary into there. Any colonist can be blessed at a church to become a missionary. I find free colonist's work well and bring in some Indian converts. As said before trade also improves relations, build a wagon trade to get the stock there but not a road as this upsets them. Also they don't always like to trade with ships especially when unhappy. Don't build colonies too close to indian villages ESPECIALLY the capital. Maintain good relation with the capital most of all. A capital has a * by it. Don't move military units near indian villages as this scars them and so they might make a preemptive strike. Artillary is very vunerable in the open -75%. |

You can't beat the French for good relations with the natives. I used to play only the Dutch for the Interest benefit, but you can easily top that by trading with the indigenous population. Still, there comes a point where, if you want to survive your war for independence, you have to make room for your colonies to grow, and that means that the current residents need to become former residents, if ya get my drift...

Indian trade is often insonsistant as they want NEW goods each time you trade with them. Why bother with spotty trade and encroaching on their land when you can make big bucks and have their territory become yours?

For me trading with Indians particularly the better developed ones eg Iroquois, Aztecs and Incas is very profitable as well as not contributing to your home country's military might (ie free from tax!). One of the most profitable in the early game is to buy the cheap tools and trade goods (around 1 to 2 unit cost) and sell them for 5 to 10 times.
I always get Pocahontas to help keep the Indians content as well. |

I found that the natives didn't care if I build roads to their villages, as long as I didn't take their land w/o paying for it or having Peter Minuit.
One of the more devious things you can do is play "Arms Merchant" if you find a tribe at war with another power.

I find that the friendlier I am with the Indians and the more arms and horses i trade with them the more likely they are to backstab me when I begin my revolution.....maybe just me though.

Well, to prove your point I have never had the Indians side with me in all the years I've been playing Colonization.
I actually posted something on this a little while back, check the second page or so.

2. Better to trade non-war-related goods. Of course it depends on the the goods in demand. I find that the least civilised of the Indian tribes like Apache are the ones that seem to demand guns and horses. One of the best tribes from my games are the Iroquois who seem to pay handsomely for trade (usually trade goods, tools, rum). 3. It is a rule: the more you trade with an Indian village the better its attitude to you. 4. Small colonies are great - Indian neighbours are very generous with gifts. |

I usually try to establish small trading posts nearer to the more civilized Indians i.e. Incas, Aztecs, Iroquois, Cherokee etc. Other than that I have given up on trying to make allies for the revolution so I send a nice, big expeditionary force to take care of those close by tribes.

I've once managed to build a great nation of 10-16 people cities in the Aztec territory without being ever attacked by them.
I played the french I got Minuit and Pocahontas early, and Jean de Brebeuf later I built missions I gave them food when they asked for I did not notice that trading with them impact their attitude. this strategy was quite profitable ; - I've been able to have no military during a long time and concentrate on building schools and forming farmers - they gave me many presents all the game long ; Aztecs give you 70 food when they visit a city with less than 5 food unit. |

I love Indians
Well I do. Grew up reading Karl May. I usually play the French (once, for the experience I played the evil Spaniards and murdered with abandon, ugh!) and don't overlap their land. They love me and give me gifts all the time. After a bit when my cities grow and I chop down too many forests they get a little antsy though. Missionaries and wagon trains fix that though. I've never had cause to pick Pocahontas except when playing the English I think.
