What is this GK, I mean I understand that it's chess, but why are the peices on the centre points instead of in the squares?
and do they move the same except on the centre points?

Well it's chinese chess, Johan. Yeah, we play on the lines. But it's quite the same. The extreme pieces are like rooks, move the same ways and are called chariots. Then next you have... the knights! surprise surprise...
Then you have elephants (=bishops. Yeah quite similar to european chess eh?)
The only major differences are:
_the most powerful piece (after your general/king/admiral) is the rook. No queen here.
_ knights move the same way but have some limitations.
_ cannons. That is a deadly lethal weapon.

It's quite basic. The strategy isn't quite different from european chess, excepted that you must deal without queen. But it has other tactics.
I emailed you the game. Actually, the only trouble you will have is... to learn the chinese symbols don't worry. If it's too difficult, give up. Kira knows how to play that so I'd be ok.
I think the most difficult chess is Shogi, Japanese chess. It's special because once you eat an enemy piece you can use it for you!
