Star Wars Galaxies: An Empire Divided

Who has played this game? Is it worth the current bugs, or is it a load o' excrement like some people say?

It's the same thing as AOE. Nothing special. However, I've only played it once at a friend's house.

Star Wars Galaxies being the same as AOE?? The two are entirely different. I think you're talking about Galactic Battlegrounds puglover. That game is practically identical to AOE. Galaxies can't be the same as its a MMORPG.

Unless of course theres another meaning for AOE, in which case, my mistake.

Yep I only used to play on the free Shards where I didn't have to pay any stupid monthly fees.

Indeed, $15 a month is pushing it. Along with paying fifty bucks up front.

Its as if they don't want you to play it... It would probably work alot better if they used a system similar to multiplayer FPSs by allowing the people who have brought the game to use an editor to make new worlds and add new units with some control from the developers so that MMORPGs could be more accessable for me, I mean everyone...

Well, if it is a Pay per month thingy. I know I wont be buying it unless you pay in a lump sum (Like with normal games) and has a Single Player Factor.

Also, would Galaxies do the same Pay Per Month as Sims Online?

Yeah. That's what I meant.

I'm playing this a lot now. It has severe problems, but a lot of my friends that wouldn't normally play a MMORPG are playing it because it is Star Wars. They've got a ton of work to do on it yet.

I'm playing a wookie Teras Kasi artist (think monk from EQ). It can be entertaining at times, but like I said, I'm really only playing it to stay in touch with old friends.

I'm thinking galaxies will be much better once player cities, mounts, vehicles, and the space expansion are released.

Hopefully by the time it reaches New Zealand, all this stuff will have been released.

If you want MMORPG, I rather recommend Anarchy Online.

In the AO forum, there are loads of people having tried SWG complaining about it being buggy and boring.
