A Medieval Scenario

I'm not a history buff, so I can't flesh out the details, but a medieval scenario in which cities are replaced with castles might be cool. Additional archers, mounted and not mounted units, and catapults.

I think there's a good chance of that period being included. How should it be represented?

I definately think there will be a medieval scenario, because I heard something about Byzantine

I can't exactly be sure what is in it, but you can check out the Medieval Europe Mod to give some kind of idea of what's in a medieval scenario

yep, there will be a scenario in that period for sure, after all lets look shall we

-there was mention of Byzantium in a preview ( lets all give a lusty cheer- Hurah!)
-we know that a scenario wonder of the knights templar or somthing similer will be in it (I say scenario, as I am not convinced that alot of the mesopatamian wonders will be in the main game, only in for a scenario.....)
-There is reason to beliva the portugese will be at least a scenario civilization, and they would fit well in a medieval/rennissance scenario
-trebuchets will included

thats all pretty solid evidence for there being a medieval scen, but we wont know till we get from an offical source, this stated, in several other gamespot previews for games have turned out wrong before, so dont put all your stock in them

I think you're exactly right here. I also think the governments of Feudalism and Sultanate will belong to this scenario as well.

Rennissance more than Medieval. The Portugese are in Feudal Japan, so they wouldn't have to be in this. I think you should prepare for the worst (they are in the game)

Hurah!

This would still make a neat normal unit (for the right price)

gotta say i only like the modern age, i spend all my time building up my empire until i can build tanks then i like to go to war. I find fighting with Knights and Cavalry rather boring and use this period to build spearman and pikeman to upgrade to mech infantry. Anyone else find the medieval ages boring

I find my games almost always play out in a certain way.

Build in the ancient age, warfare in the middle ages (starting with Knights and upgrading to Cavalry without loosing a step), build during the Industrial age, and (when I have factories and stuff) war again in the modern age.

It would be nice to have more interesting Medieval combat (although PTW added a bunch of civs from this time).

Kind of a shame that there are practically no Industrial UUs (even if I really don't use them)

450 AD- the western Roman empire is 25 years from total collaps. It has lost all authority in the west, Germano-Roman war lords now hold sway in areas once civilised. The eastern Roman empire is in the beginning of becomming a new emprire, like, but not the same as its father state thr Roman empire (I say father as I've used it, and the "last name" of Roman citizen in an analogy of the two) That is the historic time the dark ages began, by the 1400s' the area around Byzantium was engulfed by the Ottoman empire- t here is no reason to include the Byzantines in that period

The Byzantine Empire might be in if there is a Rise of Islam or Crusades scenario. Then again, it might also be Rome or Greece with the name changed if there is either scenario.

It wont be- its already been stated that even scenario only civs will be getting custum leaderhead art (the downside is its likelly to be limited to the era encompassed by that scenario)

I was thinking of a much smaller scale scenario, such as Medieval England only.

Louis XXIV - Although I hope the Portuguese are a new civ in Conquests, I don't think they are a playable civ in the Feudal Japan scenario. It is only said that the Japanese get muskets from them.
