Abbreviations

I find this website to be very difficult to understand/navigate/search. Been looking for answers to what the abbreviations mean for an hour now...Is there a page that lists them and their meanings? Also I cant seem to find basic OVERALL newbie strats. All the posts seem to be about one subject in detail (like trading or tech) but not general overview for noobs like me

GA means "Golden Age".

Isshy,
don't bother to ask away any kind of question in the "Questions & Answers" thread at the top of this page.

I don't think there's a basic OVERALL newbee strategy or something like that;
Some clou that deserves the title "strategy" should work on all levels (maybe in a very specific game only), whether one is a newbee or not.

The problem with an overall guide would be where to begin. For example, as I started, I did not know that a jungle tile is automatically cleared by settling [I cleared such always with a worker before founding a city - d'oh!], but that is not exactly a strategy.

Good general info is found in the Strategy article section, but you may also spy around on the succession games (SG) board. Players "share" a game and normally post a turn log. They usually discuss the pros/cons of some future action, such as possible city locations in the early game.

Maybe you even want to sign up for a (training) game there.

You *could* also post a save file of your actual game (possibly in "Strategies"), write about some specs of the game and wait for a feedback/advice. Just present your stuff in an attractive way (add a screenie) and wait for other people's rant about your bad playing style...

Neither is WW (war weariness). Also, PTW is noted as "not yet released," but it's out now.
