I know it fixes the gpt problem, haven't built a FP or SPHQ yet in an epic game though....

I dont think it was that harsh. I have heard that, while the FP doesnt act as a second palace, it greatly reduces corruption, alot better than before.

Well I wish I had paid attention. I could have played this a long time ago. I've got it, although it is second behind a 90 minute per turn French Emperor SG, so I'll probably push the 40 hour rule.

We are Triumphant in the Dutch War

Note: This was played with patch 1.12

Pre-flight – 750 BC – Some one irrigated several grassland tiles. While we’re in despotism we can’t get more that two food from a grassland, because of the penalty. It is always best to mine a grassland until out of despotism.

In Yax-town, pop 1, we have a worker due in 4 and the town will grow in 20. The town can’t produce the worker until it is at least pop 2. Change to a Barracks.

Change Chicken-town to a settler. At pop 7 we can’t use the entertainer and it doesn’t make sense to raise the lux tax.

MM Palenque and Tikal for better use of tiles.

Willie will give us just about everything for peace. Let’s go one more razing, shall we?

Charles of Austria is stupid and broke.

IBT – Nada.

1. 730 BC – I don’t know if I like the idea of a Jav Thrower (2 attack) going against a fortified spear (2 defense) in a town. I’m going to let the swords join our siege force at Den Hague.
Drop science to 90% with CoL due in 2.

IBT – An exploring warrior is killed by a barb.

2. 710 BC – Set up for the siege of the The Hague next turn.
Science to 80%.

IBT – CoL comes in. Since we’ll get Map Making in the Peace treaty. Go for Currency since the AI usually doesn’t go for that right away. Maybe we can get a SGL. Due in 15.
Chicken-town: Settler=>JT
Palenque: Settler=> Granary

3. 680 BC – Upgrade a warrior to a sword. Found Lagartero on some ruins on the coast.
Siege of The Hague: 4/4 sword killed 3/3 spear (redlined & promotes)
4/4 sword kills 3/3 spear (no loss)
4/4 sword killed by 3/3 spear (-1hp & promotes)
3/3 JT killed by 3/4 spear (redlined)
4/4 JT kills 2/4 spear (-2hp)
4/4 JT kills 1/4 spear (-1hp) The Hague is destroyed. 2 slaves captured.

Sign a peace treaty with Willie. Get the city of Arnhem, 45G, and Map Making. Change Palenque over to a galley. There is a barb horse just outside the undefended Arnhem. Maybe Willie’s warriors can help us and take the brunt of the attack.

Chucky is starting to accumulate some gold.

IBT – Willie’s warriors kill the barbs for us and save us a sacking of Arnhem.
Tikal: Settler=>Temple

4. 650 BC - Change Chicken-town and Yax-town to temples. Yax-town will soon be under cultural pressure from the Dutch capitol. Bump science up to 90%.

IBT – Copan: Settler=>temple

5. 630 BC – Spot a hut up near Austrian lands.

6. 610 BC - Found Quiriguá. Pop the hut and get 50G.

IBT – Chicken-Town: Temple=> Temple of Artemis
Palenque: Galley=> Galley

7. 590 BC – Found Calakmul. Whip a temple in Amsterdam.

IBT – Amsterdam: temple=> Barracks

8. 570 BC -
9. 550 BC – Found Lazapa. Found Kaminaljuyú (Thank God for cut and paste. I don’t think I could spell these names.) I am able to drop the science slider down to 80%. When I do that I make one content citizen happy. I didn’t think science would effect happiness.

Chucky of Austria finally has something to trade. We buy HBR from him for Alphabet & 21G.

10. 530 BC – Get 25G from a barb camp. Get another 25G from a barb camp, but our warrior is redlined.

After Action Report: We need to explore!! Explore, explore, explore!!! There are two JTs heading north out of Arnhem. Use those two along with the redlined warrior (allow to heal) to explore our continent. There is a galley ready to start a westward suicide run.

Two wonders we may want to try for are the Temple of Artemis (being built in Chicken-town, gives a free temple in every town on the continent) and the Statue of Zeus (builds an ancient cav every five turns.)

The Austrians are not presently a threat of any sort. Although later we will probably want some of their cities.

The Dutch should be kept in their place. Don’t allow them to walk a settler out. Make them sail one out.

I think we have a decent chance for a scientific great leader with currency. Should be interesting to see.
>>SAVE - 530 AD <<

That year isn't right. I must have played a turn too many.

530 BC
Looks nice

IBT
Dutch move warriors to north
Palenque: Galley>Galley
Austrians are building ToA

510 BC
Moved Galley to south
Moved Swordsmen and JTs (to cities or to exploring)
Suicide Galley #1 sails to west (suicide galley #2 tries from east)

IBT
GA ended
Dutch warriors move to north (they block the road sometimes )
Amsterdams culural influence expanded
Ur completed Pyramids
Lisbon completed TGL (lighthouse)

490 BC
Suicide Galley #1 sees Byzantines border!!!
Barb warrior spotted in North (JTs)
Currency next turn (thumbs up for SGL )

IBT
Our ”outpost” is in area of Dutch.
Currency researched, no SGL, ouch!
Lowered research to 70%
Start researching Construction (17 turns)
Bonampak: Temple>Rax

470 BC
Moved ”outpost” to hills near Utrecht (we still see the city)
I send Swordsman to North, as reinforcement
JT attacks redlined barb warrior in hill, wins
Suicide Galley #1 survived *kisses the galley*
Move Galley towards Byzantines, See Varna.
Byzantines have less cities, they have Incan cities (Cuzco for example), they are ahead by Literature, they don’t have CoL, Polytheism or Currency, they have 61 gold
Incans are near!
Traded Literature+61 gold for Currency
Traded with Chucky: Writng for 130 gold (to speed up our research
Research to 80% (Construction in 14 turns)

IBT
Finally Dutch warriors go to South

450 BC
Suicide Galley #1 continues to west.
Constantinople spotted.
Barb camp spotted in north (JT)

IBT
Copán: Temple>Spearman
Same in Tikal

430 BC
JT attacks barb camp, wins, no damage, another 4 turns of research are funded (-6 gpt)
SG#1 moves along the coast

IBT
3 barbarian galleys next to SG#1

410 BC
I move back (SG#1) (no risks anymore)
Switch Palenque to Settler (no need for SGs anymore) (SG is Suicide Galley, not Succession Game in this turnlog)

IBT
Barb galleys are following, I hope Byzantines have Dromons in Constantinople
Palenque: Settler>Settler
Bonampaks cultural influence expanded

390 BC
SG#1 is back in start, will try northern coast next

IBT
Barb galleys are following
Yaxchilán: Temple>Rax
Willie established embassy in Chichén Itza

370 BC
It’s good that I sent reinforcements to North, barb camp spotted (swordsman). Can you say barb hunt?
SG#1 moves to Northern coast of Byzantines

IBT
Barb hut: warrior attacked our swordsman: that damn warrior redlined our Swordsman
Copán: Spearman>SoZ (34 turns)
Cultural influence expanded too
Same in Tikal but started Settler

350 BC
Swordsman healing
New barb camp spotted (JT)

IBT
Nothing special

330 BC
Brave New World aka SG#1 (I had to for those who don’t get it, BNW is Iron Maiden’s album)
Barb camp has 3 Horsemen and 1 warrior so I move vet JT to hills
See Chuckys elite warrior next to camp (can you say massacre)

Notes: We are biggest and strongest, Byzantines are equal in techs, they are poor though. Build settlers so that we can grab as much land as possible (rubber and coal in jungles). Our exploration is going well. We get construction in 6 turns, that’s a new chance for SGL.

Ville, excellent turns. I would keep building galleys though. The more we explore, the more our map will be worth when we finally get to sell it.
