Upgrades
I was thinking of in addition to the unit numbers, there should also be techs that steadily increase some unit's power in some way. For example, when you first get mech infatry, they should be relatively low stats, around infantry stats, just with extra movement. after a few techs though, they will be faster and become more able to face the challenges of the modern day. aols to have a tech giving helecopters the ability to carry AT units and steady increacings in ship movement as new engine technologies come through would be cool.

Yeah, your idea makes sense. Another example is infantry units. When they start out, they are World War I era units, but over time they would get better guns, eventually using M-16s or AK-47s, which would make them much more powerful.

a slight change in graphics would do. im also looking specifically at tanks. from Mk 4's to T-34's to Tigers to M-60's and so on.

there seems to be a mix of ww1 ww2 in the game. Bi planes blimps and ol lumbering tanks would have been nice. Then an upgrade. But all in all i would rather have moving rivers/water, fish and weather.

I think you could do this with the editor. For each tech you want a unit to increase its stats, add a new unit with the same cost as the base unit but with the better stats, new name and graphic. This way you get the better unit and the upgrade will be free. (I haven't tested this, but believe it would work).

It works, and most of the graphics you'd need can be found in the Creation and Customization Forum.
What I've always found mildly amusing is that the Guerilla has an automatic gun, whereas the Infantry has not, yet they come at the same time, and Inf is the better unit.

(or better trained)Anyway.... You can find most of the graphics you need in Creation & Custmization, but you have to find them.. then download them.. then create the unit stats etc. inside of the editor.. then test out your new "map" and fix any errors you've made.

Guerilla is a really bad shot, he sprays with his AK (i think) then just starts jabbing the dude with his bayonett.

i believe that the DYP mod does it nicely, but id prefer if the game actually did it.

The idea of upgrating is already in the game, what i think is simply that there could be more units. For example Infantry/Mech.infantry.As you say there is a diference between ww1 and ww2 infantry,so there is space for one more. This counts for all tecnologies/units.To tell you the truth i thowght that the Conquests ex.sould involve a higher number of epic units.Instead they have added only 8.So,the idea of upgrate is right, only that i would prefer having new units ready, and not to create them by myself in the editor(which i want do).

also, the mech infantry jump is a tad steep, as is muskets to the repeating rifle.
