Minimize Civ3?

Just wondering can any of you minimize civ3? As I can't.

The only way I would know how to do it is WindowsKey+D, but that minimizes everything. However, it is a handy key combination if you're using applications on a computer during school class that you shouldn't and need to hide them quick if a teacher is moving into visual range.

I'm afraid I haven't been a student for several years, but it may come in handy when I go back for my masters and doctorate. And to think, I found this tip in Site Feedback of all places...

alt tab wont work for me. Therefore I run it in the background by hitting the windows key. I wish other games would run in the background like that.

Alt-Tab only works with more than one program going. If the other program isn't full screen, then you'll see Civ 'under' it.

Best thing to do is get a virtual desktop program and switch screens. Then it doesn't even show up.

Yeah, alt-tab is for toggling when 2 or more applications are running.

If you want to save screenies or surf the net (or whatever) w/o closing Civ3 and actually have nothing to toggle to, you could also hit control-alt-delete (once only ) to start the task manager. That may bring up the task bar as well (works for me at least) and I could then start a new application like paint or whatever (and then I could use alt-tab to toggle)

WindowKey-R will bring up the Run Program Pop-Up box. Then you can type in your program or website. If you're not going to go to a 'main page' (i.e. - forums.civfanatics.com) you'll need to put the 'http://' in. And if you're going to run Paint, make sure you know the filename. (MSPAINT, in this case.) You may need to put the full name of the program in (i.e. - c:\program files\programs\infogrames interactive\civilization 3\civ3ptw\civilization3x.exe)
