Its good. Theres new civs, new attributes (Seafaring and Agricultural), new city improvements etc. You also get new specialists -policemen and civil engineers to reduce corruption and make extras shields respectivly.

If it's still only $10 at Amazon why not just take the risk? I think it's excellent, but hey, when a game costs less than two "adult beverages" at your local bar might as well just spend the cash.

One adult beverage if you life in New York. I would definitely buy C3C. Even if you play it twice for 2 hours and never touch it again, you spent less than two movies.

Definitely worth it. I skipped PTW but have been very pleased with C3C.

JazzToucan is right. $10 isn't that big of a risk. . . I'd buy it. Oh, wait, I already did! (for $10, that is. . . )

I paid $40 for it and consider that to be a good deal. For the countless hours I will spend playing the game $40 is a small price to pay. At $10 this game is a steal.

For the record I paid $20 and thought it was a great deal at that price. On the other hand, Civ is the only computer/video game I play so it's not so hard to allot cash for it.

Wait until the bug reports for the awaited patch. They could conceivably screw it up worse than it is.

I paid $30 so that I could play it the first day it came out (even though I had played it nearly daily for the past 6 months and was likely to get a free copy eventually). I don't regret it in the least.

I think that Amazon decided to ''gift'' C3C in this price 10$ only because they are waiting for the new patch which will be included in the later C3C disc.I mean that i have paid 30 euros for the game and i haven't played it that much because of the bugs (I couldn't wait so i bought it when it was released).I must say that i have regreted that i was so unpatient only because now i know that in a few months time they will release a better version of the game.Certainly i am not saying don't buy the game (the game is great) but if i was you i would wait until the version including the patch comes out.

I don't mind paying. But I am not impressed by C3C. So, no go until I am really bore with no other games to play.

PTW was not all that bad ...C3C is mostly PTW stuff...the best looking new uu is PTW (Conquistidor) and the added units of Medevil inf , guerillas and the upgrade paths were all PTW.
C3C has volcanos which are cool, and archers now have defensive bombard which is a nice addition that turns Babylons UU into a more effective ancient unit without tweaking things very much...Seafaring is a nice trait and the new governments are different to play with-u can skip republic and monarchy and aim for fuedalism if u have small towns making up the majority of ur civ...Lethal bombard for air and beefed up navy stats are good changes too-Cruiser is a C3C unit that is a welcome sight and the Dromon is a new naval UU which has some power. Map trading is now pushed back and Spain gets it's UU earlier which puts it in a nice niche'. And u can play with Plague which puts a skull on ur city and shows vultures circling it-a nice graphic. Philosophy can give a free tech if u get to it first...But the best addition that C3C has to offer are two unit creating wonders...Statue of Zues produces an Ancient Calvary unit that has a 3 attack i think and extra ht pnts..and Knights of Templar produces a Crusader that can build forts and had medevil inf stats i think. Kind of like xtra Unique unique units that are nice to have if u built the wonders but are not really over powering as they come 1 every four turns. Nice thought on those.

i like the new map generation ... looking much more realistic landmasses ... i would like to see more location based small wonders (like u need an oasis in the city radius to build such and such)

[dance] got it today! Love the Jaguar Warriors! (Or whatever their name is called.)

First game, playing Mayans, doing poorly. New things to figure out. Took a step down to Regent, and am still geting out-rexed by the AI. Make contact with the mongols. They're jerks from the get go. Next thing I see is four Mongol warriors trying to invade me. I tell them to declare war or get out, they declare war. I attack with my UU, boom! Golden age right off the bat, plus I start enslaving their warriors. I've got about four extra workers now becuase of that.

Hmm. . . I have five days off coming up. . . .I wonder if I can find someone to hook up a IV for me?

Javeliner is the UU for the Mayans. Jags, unfortunately, can't enslave.
