What to do next?

Demi-god level. I'd post a save but I'm playing as Austria (White) having modded the conquests file.

Russia is to the west and has Rifleman and are probably close to getting the ability to build Infantry.

Above them is the technologically sound but fading Iraqouis and above them is Carthage (a non-factor still in the late middle ages).

I don't have rubber, but am can build Infantry when I get it, am a few turns from completing Theory of Evolution Wonder.

On the other continent, the Zulu, Ottomans, and Portugese are all roughly at the same tech level as me. Everyone except Carthage is either polite or gracious towards me.

The northern part of my area use to be Spain that I recently conquered a few turns ago. As you can see I have about forty Hussar I can send into Russia and ally myself with the other nations to prevent any backstabbing.

I'm sure as things stand now I have a decent chance of winning on either Spaceship or Diplomatic victory, but Conquest at Demi-god would be the ultimate challenge for me right now.

Thoughts? Attack? Build more Hussar? Russia could get Infantry if I delay...

Yes, attack Russia. Also, go for their rubber if they have any If you can get Replaceable Parts very soon (forgoing Atomic Theory and Electronics for Hoover Dam when you get ToE), immediately build large numbers of artillery. In fact I would say this is the best option, as your Hussars should probably work better against redlined Infantry rather than 3-4hp Riflemen.

The Hussar is a 7 attack unit so they work better against rifleman than average cavalry. I think you should attack Russia when they still have Rifleman. Bring along a few cannons just in case.

I waited to build up about a dozen artillary... Russia was only able to build a few infantry before I cut off their rubber supply and, thanks to alliances, nobody would trade it to them.

Russia is gone and now I'm after the Zulu with modern army.
