Have you ever destroyed a Wonder?

Just Wondering...

I've never seen a Great Wonder destroyed in Civ3. Have you ever seen a Wonder destroyed or destroyed one yourself?

What happens to your reputation if you intentionally destroy a Wonder?

Now that volcanos are in the game, I imagine there is a chance of a Wonder getting destroyed at least accidentally.

I've razed cities which contained wonders in the late game. I dind't notice any particular reputation hit.

Why exactly would you do this except in an 0CC? If you destroy a wonder, can it be rebuilt?

Exactly, if you destroy it, it can never be rebuilt.

You might do it if you're going for a conquest victory and trying to avoid domination conditions. I believe I've read that you can't rebuild a destroyed wonder.

You might also do it if you've captured a city deep enough into your enemy's territory that you don't think you can hold it or keep it from culture flipping, but you don't want your enemy to have access to the wonder either. So you raze the city...

Nope, it's still in the current version AFAIK. Should be fixed in the Spring patch.

Along the same lines, if you destroy a wonder that gives temples/granaries/barracks/research labs/whatever to a number of cities, do the wonder-created temples/granaries/etc stay around or do they go away when the wonder does?

They go away, IIRC.

The only rep hit you get is for razing the city.

Whats the point of keeping the Great Library in the year 2000. No culture mo benefits. Just a useless piece of garbage, so I starve the city, burn it down and build one of my own cities in a better area.

CivPhil: that was changed with C3C, iirc. The tourism bonus relates to all civs, not just the one that builds it.

In this game Paris flipped to me after Spain had captured it and I got the tourism bonus from the Oracle.

Ah, yes. But I think he may have been reffering to the quite common razing of culture powerhouses in vanilla and PTW. Since you hadn't built the wonder and it was obsolete, you had no use for it and therefor destroyed the city.
In C3C however, there's tourism to consider, although that's prob not gonna make or break your game...
