This site is a lot better than the manual. Much of the stuff in the manual is wrong anyway.
Provided you can work out how to do the absolute basics, everything else you need is to be found here, albeit a little hard to find sometimes. |

Like Offa said: you're much better off reading the info on Civfanatics and using the fantastic utilities available here.
I'd like to add that for a manuaholic (right? ) like myself the Civ 3 manual was thoroughly disappointing after the informative and pretty manual of Civ 2.

This site has lots of good stuff that just is not in the manual. In particular try the in Info Centre for general info and this from cracker [URL=http://www.civfanatics.com/doc/civ3/cracker/civ3_starts/] to help get things started.

There's a pdf of the manual included on the CD.

Yeh look the war academy and others can be pretty longwinded! I'm looking for something printable so I can read it at leisure while kicking back on my couch listening to some tunes and not using up precious internet hours!

Just print them and browse at your leisure (that's what I did).

Certain there isn't one?
PM me your email address, and which manual(s) you want (CivIII, PTW, C3C), and I'll send them to you.

Are you sure you have the real CD? You might have gotten ripped off on eBay and bought a pirated copy. I have all three Civ III games, and each one comes with the manual in PDF format on the CD in the "Manual" folder.

Duke togo!No manual on the disk which isn't a fake as I have had it registered!I might even suggest that maybe some versions released in some nations might have been different to your ones! I also have all three versions and guess what no manuals on any of them and yes I do know how to open a file a look inside it!PS a fake cd wouldn't come with a cd key!

CD Key, that's certainly different. Alice Springs, Australia, I take it? I'm curious now, what version are you using?

Yeah it was a little misleading with everyone telling me it was on the disk! When in fact it was in the file on my harddrive which technically isn't the disk! If some one had said it will be in the files that were installed in your hard drive I probably would have found it very quickly!Mind you even the manufacturers printed on the CD" manual on the disk" so you could say their poor grammar caused the whole thing to happen in the first place!
