C3C missing unit

How come they forgot to add an amphibious medieval unit?personally I am very annoyed about AI settling a 1 tile island and flipping my cities like mad until marines come up. I think this should be fixed by Firaxis, afterall is not realistic at all.

I play from now with flip off because of this

You can combat flipping by having a higher culture rating than the AI city. Since their production has to be very limited (only 1 tile) they will have mostly nothing but fish. Therefore you have a good chance of flipping them instead.
Changing to Repulic/Democracy also resists flipping.
If you are at war with them, you can also starve the fellows by putting a ship on their sea tiles so they can't fish.
Finally, if not at war, you can attempt to trade for it. Give the AI one of your cities in exchange for that one, then declare war and take your main land city back.

That's not supposed to work since some of the patches of Vanilla.

A better bet, generally, would be declaring war, beating them up, and demanding the island city for peace.

Exactly. Identify the island and far-away cites first, wait 20 turns, and then finish them off.

What I tried to say was that the last city (palace) went on some 1 tile island in the medieval era. it annoys me to not be able to finish a rival because of a missing unit.

That's the annoying part of Civ3, so, you'll just have to wait for marines. One thing you can do is, before taking the mainland cities, try to sue for peace so you can get island cities.

a single temple in one of your cities should prevent flips, especially on a city that has only 1 production
