R there cheats 4 the Mac version?

Hi all,

I'm new to the forum, and I am sorry if this has been posted b4, but are there any cheats available for the mac version of Civ 3? The only one that I can find (and the only one that works) is that map code ("multi" code). R there any others out there?

What version are you using? 1.16, 1.17, 1.21 or 1.29? I don't believe any cheats exist for 1.21 or 1.29. Any cheats that exist for versions before those, I'm not aware of.

I'm using version 1.16. I had no idea there were that many versions. Should I be upgrading?

Yes, definitely. The latest patch is 1.29b2 and can be found here in this forum, scroll down for the thread. It is still unofficial, in beta, but the final build has been submitted for release. It just hasn't come out yet. However, the editor will not run in 1.29b2, just 1.21g. So, if you're dead set on using the editor, you can stay w/ 1.21g or make two installs of Civ3, and upgrade one to 1.21g and the other to 1.29b2.

I highly recommend 1.29b2, but there are no cheats. We'll help you!

Just of curiousity, in the new downloads, are there any new civilizations included or new units? I am rather cautious about downloading (I've been experiencing many problems lately), but if these new upgrades are much better, then maybe I'l just give it a try.

No, its not a new game or a mod (modified) upgrade. It just provides some new features, like stack movement, and fixes bugs (problems). Version 1.16 (out of the box) has a few bugs you'd rather play with out.

There are bugs in 1.16. Really? I play a lot, and I mean a lot, and I haven't noticed anything unusual. Do u know what bugs these might be for 1.16?

Chieftain level, followd by Warlord, are really training modes and it seems to me they provide a cheat mode if you really want to beat the game without having to work at it. That and reloading ....

Well, there is too much to mention, so I''ll post the readme for the 1.29b2 update. Figure now that these are changes from the 1.21g patch, which is the second patch from 1.16f. I don't have the readme for 1.17f anymore, but you can surmise from reading these that there were many things wrong w/ 1.16.
