Try this!

This is a save game I found in my civ 2 folder. It's kinda long ago since I played that game. The strange thing is the Island I started on. ONLY grassland and some forrest. Well I thought I should try to finish the game. It was kinda fun. Also decided not to leave my island because I didn't want to play a very long game. I finished in 1901 by spaceship.

Let's see who can finish this game fastest.

Btw it is king level so my 1901 is not so good. Feel free to leave the island if you want.... HAVE FUN and post your results here.

I gave it a whirl.Did ok.
Stayed at home for the most part.There were many specials to be mined.That was kinda fun.I mined 8....and a few empty forests.I was able to get 2 whales and 1 silk in my science city.

I had all kinds of problems with the tech tree,I got in the wrong cycle and didn't get the desired option alot.Had to research all the nuke techs before the final Spaceflight path was finally offered.I don't know how many turns I lost here..lots
Had a nice ship chain running to America and I was rarely short of gold.I "bought" the spaceship by starting wonders in all cities then switching off to parts.I didn't have enough cities so it took 2 turns to build.
Didn't time Fusion Correctly either.Went ahead and launched without it.Saved 4 years than if I had waited 1 more turn for it.
