City Limits????
Hi,
i played on a huge map with 31 civs. But after a time as i want to build my 38th city i must read that there are too many cities. So can someone tell me if there is a city limit for all civs together or how does it work. I have heard from a limit of 400 cities for all. So is it right or is there something to do, maybe to build more cities. I mean if you have a huge map, 400 cities is not much for all civs, if everyone builds about 13 cities, thatīs it. Then i donīt have to play on a huge map, i want to say for what reasons i should play a huge map if the half of the map remains empty. Ok i can reduce the civīs, then everybody can build more cities, but i think 40 cities is normal. And this number is out of reach with this restriction of 400 cities, if itīs right at all. So please answer me if you know something that might help me. bigfrog2 |

512 is the top limit for cities. Have a search around and there's quite a few threads that mention this.

Another (better) solution is to increase the amount of water on the map.

Yes of course but if you have a huge map you donīt want to have water all around. I thought it will be a long game with 31 civs on a huge map, but with only some cities for everyone it will be boring after a time. So i will change the map a bit and the allowed civs on this map.
