Yes. Have you done a search for "scenarios" in the Macintosh forum? It's way easier than me trying to precis a lot of posts on the subject for you

I don't know of any Mac-specific scenarios, because they are unnecessary, so "No, they aren't posted in this forum".

Sorry, my answer related to your second question. "Yes, you can use Windows scenarios", But check the posts here concering which ones are compatible, and how to install them.

All I have found is just maps, there seem to be very few mods of the game and I haven't found any graphical modpacks, which is what I really want.

Just go and have a look at the creation and customization forums or try the civ III downloads page also linked from the CFC main page.

The Double Your Pleasure mod seems to be a very popular and extensive mod. I haven't played it myself, beyond verifying that it would install and run on the Mac version. You can expand the Civ1.29 PC .exe file using Stuffit Expander, believe it or not, and then you can use my drag and drop installer for OS X to install the files into the right places in a copy of your Mac 1.29 software. (Follow the breadcrumbs from the installers link in my sig)

Re Graphical mods there are mods like Snoopy's Terrain in the mods forum. They work fine on the Mac.

Why does DyP need that complicated tweeking?
Maybe I will try the installer thing....

When I said there are very few mods and such I meant for Vanilla Civ3. I know how many mods there are in the C&C forum but most of them are for PTW or C3C.

The .exe file you download from the DyP site is an installer that puts all the files in the right places for a Windows player. There is no equivalent one-step installer for the Mac - if you visit the home site for DyP you will find that a search for 'Mac' demonstrates that it's a Mac-free zone.

I'm not sure what you mean by 'complicated tweaking'. A Civ3 mod consists of lots of text and graphics and sound files that all have to go in the right places. I've just tried to make it as easy as possible for any user to do this.

It was a revelation to me that Stuffit is able to extract the files from the DyP Windows installer. All you need to do then is to put them in the right places in your Civ3 installation. If you are used to installing mods then go ahead and do it manually. It's not rocket science, but it's tedious, error-prone, some users are not as comfortable as others with moving files around, and if the game doesn't work right you won't know if it's a bug or something you did wrong.

The reason there's a thread here devoted to the Mac gotm installer is that after I had installed the gotm mods a couple of times, and the number of mods started to multiply, I felt a strong need for an installer to take away the pain. It seems this was useful to others as well. Then I decided to create a general purpose mod installer that would work with any file set. The drag and drop installer is the result. I've also adapted it to work with other games. So there's a general purpose version of it on my own web space that will install mods for Hearts of Iron or Europa Universalis II as well as Civ3.
