38%
What is the game doing when it is 38% loaded in the start-up process? It always takes a lot of time to move past it.
In past versions, it would often crash at 38% -- freezing and forcing me to re-boot to get a game going. |

I dont know if the precentages is acually accurate (For example exactly how many % of the MB loaded)
It might be sorted by how many files were loaded, in this case, i think that file at 38% is really big Ya, mine goes slower at 38% too

I think I've read before that 38% is where graphics are loaded

Mine always stops at 38% too...The graphics explanation seems reasonable.

For me, it was 37% for Vanilla, 38% with c3c. I assume they added one more thing to push it up that 1%.

This was raised a long time ago. IIRC, the conclusion was that this is the point of placing all the units (and graphics) on the map. Hence, later in the game, the pause is longer (more units).

That's weird, mine stops for a while on 78%. That's later on in a large game.

I remember the cool avatar! ![]() Back on topic, 38% is very common in the game. Is it some subliminal message, easter egg? CHeat?

Loading my ultra big map SG (362x362 tiles) always gets stuck at 72%. That takes a lot more time than 38% (5 times as much at least).
