Which game had it right?

This is a new, almost poll like thread. I'm going to list several gameplay aspects, and tell which of the Civ games(or other games, if they were really good at it) did it best. you can add your onw game concepts and games, this thread is just designed to see what ppl liked and iddn't like.

Trade: Civ 3
Terrain: Civ 3
Governments: SMAC
Pollution: SMAC
Units: SMAC, but lean more towards Civ 3 for the next Civ
Support: Civ 3
Tech Tree: Civ 2
Espionage: Civ 3
Territory: Civ 3
Nuclear War: SMAC(planetbusters baby)
Maps: SMAC(incorporated elevation and resultant vegetation better)
Civs: SMAC
Unit Movement: C3C
Graphics: Snoopy's Graphics Pack
Soundtrack: Civ 2
Sounds: Civ 2
Interface: Civ 3
Specialists: SMAC, although you could mod more specialists in C3C

That's about it. If you want to discuss someone's particular opinion, try to put which person in the title and quote them, please. Just helps in case anyone actually reads this.

I disagree on the graphics but otherwise I more or less agree. I think the unit workshop idea should be dropped as I feel in the long run it is a waste of time.

Of course you disagree. I like Snoopy's better though (the vanilla Civ3 version). I've never really got the hang of SMAC, but it was fun. Anyway...

Trade: Civ 3
Terrain: Civ 3
Governments: Not sure. Never paid attention to them in Civ1, 2 and SMAC.
Pollution: Civ2 (never got that far in SMAC)
Units: Civ3
Support: What do you mean by support?
Tech Tree: Civ 2
Espionage: Civ 3, slightly leaning to Civ2 because of all the options.
Territory: Civ 3
Nuclear War: SMAC!
Maps: Civ3 (never really liked SMAC maps - made it hard to view)
Civs: Civ3
Unit Movement: C3C
Graphics: Snoopy's
Soundtrack: Civ 1 (just because it's nostalgic)
Sounds: Civ 1 (ditto)
Interface: Civ 3
Specialists: Civ3 (never used SMAC specialists)

Prior to Civ3 support had to be paid by the city that built the unit and you had to waste time rebasing units. I like Civ3's better.

CT, SMAC had a more flexible government system than the Civ's where you could mix and match aspects of your government to match your plan.

Trade: Assuming resource trade --> CTP *ducks*
Terrain: SMAC's elevation was nice, but the multitude of terrains in Civs 2&3 was nice, too. Some mix is ideal.
Governments: SMAC
Pollution: None of them. They've all been essentially the same and bad.
Units: SMAC, but Civ can't use the Unit Workshop as effectively. Some mix would be best for cIV.
Support: Civ 3
Tech Tree: Civ 2
Espionage: SMAC (Probe Teams were wonderful.)
Territory: SMAC (Culture is nice, but not for borders. The 7-tile-radius was better than Civ 1&2's fat-X of territory.)
Nuclear War: Civ 3
Maps: Civ 3
Civs: (Changed to...) SMAC (because I realized that this probably means the uniqueness of Civs.)
Unit Movement: Civ 3 (minus infinite railroads :thumbdown)
Graphics: Snoopy's, Warpstorm's and Rhye's Graphics for Civ/C3C
Soundtrack: Civ 2
Sounds: Civ 2
Interface: Civ 3
Specialists: SMAC, but the Civil Engineer and Policeman were nice additions in C3C.
