To many to tell, but i'll try. LOL. In V4 all ini and biq errors should be fixed now. also added a few cities on Greenland for Denmark. As well as changing out old unit graphs of Wyrms with his new ones. And of course added new ones that was still needed. So from here on out SOE is a done deal and its time to move on to SOP and SOW

Yes. It will be a combination of both SOE and SOP played on El Mencey's world map.

not that you'd don't already know this but his big one would be a monsterous load time. i've tortured myself with my Age of Imperialism (31 civs) scenario and a semi-large map (230X180). i've switched to an even smaller one for the new version (180x180). load times aren't too bad. a few minutes, tops.

thanks for all of those dreadnoughts btw

When I started on my Luddi's WWII, I used el mencey's giga world map 362x362.

Interesting Luddi, how did you come to terms with the small size of Europe in comparison to the rest of the world ?? I'm asking cuz I already enlarged Europe slightly and made existential changes to the British Isles, Japan, Hawaii, etc for a better fit.

The main reason for why I first choosed to use that map, is that I wanted to have Europe so big as possible. And I needed to place some islands in the pacific.

There is a chance that there is a way to decrease loading times (the initial ones anyway) significantly.
I'll need to test it some more, but chances are that the saves that come with SOE won't be necessairy anymore, since it loads up in less then 10 minutes!

I just found this out by accident btw

and your method is?

the initial load time is one thing (only occurs once) but the subsequent turns could be excrutiatingly long; especially on el mencey's giga map. it's a real pain these long load times. it takes away from the pleasures of a well thought out and designed scenario.

i've kinda found a balance with my AoI scenario (dozens upon dozens of different units) but wouldn't dare to imagine what the load times for it would be like on a map any larger than 200X200.

Sarevok said that it could take about 5 hours to load up my WWII scenario, so I'm now using the map SimPathy used for his WWII scenario, but I modified it for my own use.

And what stands "BTW" for???

EDIT: Is it "By The Way"?

very true; especially with all of those units and pre-placed cities and trade routes. you're talkin' hours! not even worth it IMO.

i've used rhye's 180x180 world map with an enlarged europe and the load times have been excellent.

btw= by the way

Well, when I wanted to load SOE on this same pc last year it took over 7 HOURS to do so. Now, the loadtime is down to 7 MINUTES.
I have yet to figure out what was changed, my guess is that I put each city on the same terrain and have only that terrain allow cities. That's the only major change I can think of.

Read it and wheep, 7 minutes.
Today only I've reloaded SOE like 10 times.
