In just 5 turns we will research Space Flight enabling us to build the Apollo Progamme and start building our spaceship.

At a cost of 500 shields, Rome and Civantonia (with the specialist as a Policeman) can build it in only 5 turns. We have a Palace we could use to give us a foundation prebuild which would give us 3 turns, allowing 1 turn so we don't have to switch by the big picture drops that to 2. This means we can start a prebuild in only 3 turns from now, completing the Apollo Programme on just turn 8.

As this wonder is the key to our final victory personally I would prefer to build it in one of our 5 original cities, and for me that would be Civantonia as at 80spt Olympus would be more suited to building parts.

Civantonia would be willing to construct the Apollo Program. [/governor]

We're going to need to spare some of our cities' productions for spaceship parts. I ask all governors to please look at finding out if their city would be profitable in building parts. Civantonia produces 100 shields per turn, so it's going to be a prime producer. Any others?

The 3 parts available with the Apollo Programme appear to cost multiples of 80 shields (Docking Bay = 160, Cockpit = 320, Engine = 640). Cities that produce 80spt (eg: Olympus, Berlin) may therefore be more efficient at these, certainly for the lower cost ones, allowing the 100spt cities to continue building troops in 1 turn.

With nuclear plants, Besancon (90spt) would be good for the 160s ones, Civantonia and Rome (so could Istakhr if we had the forbidden palace at that point) could build the 320s ones in 3 turns, and Rome could build the engine in 5 turns.

I think the appropriate thing to do would be to spread it around a bit, and don't worry about going fast. I'd like to aim for completing the tech tree and building all the modern wonders before we end it.

Okay. Where do we want to start building some parts? Civantonia can build the availiable parts in either two, four, or seven turns. Shall it tackle the SS Engine challenge (seven turns)?

This is the spaceship situation at 1840. We have 2 parts ready to assign and are researching Synthetic Fibres due in 6 which will make another 2 parts available. To keep up with the build, Civ can probably build 1 of the current parts and 1 of the parts available with synthetic fibres with other cites building the others, I'm not sure how long the parts will take to build not our cities have Nuclear plants. I'm sure TimBently will want to build some as well!
