Futurama News

Well, I tried taking the test, but had problems with the browser, resulting in my score getting all messed up. I'd say I was somewhere in the 60-75 range. I like Futurama, but I've only ever seen half of two of the movies.

The quiz is stupid. Just because Leila has a single eye doesn't necessarily mean it's her most significant feature. Also, Zoidberg may be lobster-like, but he's not a lobster.

Precisely, any true fan would realise that quiz is weapons grade bolognium.

What annoyed me was that they asked how Soylent Greeen tastes. The answer was that it varies from person to person. But that was actually never soylent green, it was soylent cola!!!

You refuse to watch the movie based on the first 20 minutes?

And you call yourself a Futurama fanatic :shake:

That movie wasn't even close to being Futurama.

I second this. The marriage question especially peeved me off, they only got married once. Yet the guy seems to count alternate universe Fry and Leela as regular Fry and Leela, and says they got married twice.

Yeah. I thought he was counting Lars and Leela, as well as time skip. I even forgot about alternate reality marriage.

The soylent cola question was the question 22 that enraged me.

Overall, very movie centric, so it's not the real futurama that we all know and love. But w/e.

Not so good on the Second test...

This contest reminds me of the story about the squirrel and the octopus. The squirrel spent all his time stockpiling nuts for winter while the octopus mooched off his girlfriend. Then winter came, the squirrel froze to death and the octopus ate all his nuts, and also he got a race-car. So go away, you nagging octopus.

Hate to tell you but it was the Grasshopper and the Octopus....

Funny how that has been my sig for a long time. I'm guessing 2 years.

Hate to tell you but it was the Grasshopper and the Octopus....
Dammit, I kept looking at it thinking that something was wrong with it, but couldn't put my finger on it. And it's one of the two most important words in the story.

I knew I should have gone with the Bigfoot ramble, but it's not s funny without seeing Fry actually petting the imaginary kitten.

Just like a unwanted guest star.... I'm back!

New stuff on this D+ 30 days until the premier.

Information on the episodes have been "released" and spoilered for you protection:

61cv01 - Rebirth

Spoiler :
"Fry and Leela's relationship has a very bizarre science-fiction twist to it."

"We don't want to get into a rut where they're having a baby and moving away to the suburbs. That would mess up the show to some degree. Without giving too much away, to have their relationship be on-again, off-again is a little more exciting for the ongoing drama of the series."

Interesting. We know that in the end of the last DVD Movie, Into the Wild Green Yonder, Fry and Leela kiss, but Futurama shippers wanted them to start dating. I've always supported the fact that the on-again, off-again plot between Leela and Fry is big part of the series success, so sorry shippers..

6acv02 - In-A-Gadda-Da-Leela

Spoiler :
"an episode that was Matt Groening's brainchild, with Zap Brannigan and Leela getting stranded on a Garden of Eden planet."

"[..] he wanted to do that at the starting point of the episode, so we have Zap and Leela stranded on this beautiful Garden of Eden planet and they're naked and wearing fig leaves immediately. It's a little more cartoon flesh than we would have shown in the old days."

Neat. This episode was originated by Matt himself, and also, we get more nudity hahaha!

6acv03 - The Attack of the Killer App.

Spoiler :
We're going to see our versions of Twitter and iPhones in the future, as Fry posts embarrassing videos of Leela online. The difference is, in our version of the iPhone, the iPhone is implanted in your eye. It's a tiny hovering screen in front of you and it's even more annoying than the real iPhone."

Hey! Bender posted naked Leela pictures on the Internet first, but Fry added videos, and I guess he did it by accident. I can see that David finds the iPhone annoying..

6avc04 - Proposition Infinity

Spoiler :
Bender tries to pass a ballot initiative called Proposition Infinity to legalize robosexual marriage, which is the marriage between a robot and a human."

We know Bender wants to marry Amy in that episode according to previous spoilers from Twitter. I'm 99% sure this episode is the 4th one, since is one of the more "filthy" episodes.

6acv12 - The Mutants Are Revolting

Spoiler :
In our 100th episode special, Mark Mothersbaugh and Devo campaign for mutant rights; Leela's parents are [..] mutant citizens [..] The members of Devo have mutated over the years, and Mark Mothersbaugh helps out in their campaign for equality."

Mark Mothersbaugh and Devo (band) are special guests in this episode. Is kinda fun to know A little more about this episode, that marks the 100th Futurama episode!

6acv__ - [Unknown Episode Name 1]

Spoiler :
they spend the episode going further and further through all future history trying to find the technology for a backward time machine."

We knew about Fry and The Proffessor going only forward in time, but is interesting to know they will visit a more futuristic world than the year 3000 that we all know and love.

6acv__ - [Unknown Episode Name 2]

Spoiler :
Nixon will be back. We have a whole head-related episode. It's discovered that you get a 'head trip' if you lick one of the heads in the jars. So Fry licks George Washington's head and it sends them off on a Revolutionary War adventure.

Interesting episode, somehow new since we will experiment a "drug" trip of Fry by licking a head-in-a-jar. Perhaps everything in the episode will be the trip, perhaps not.

Special Guests: Their Roles

* "Craig Ferguson has the most remarkable guest role of the year: He is playing a talking part of Leela's body. We discover that Leela has a little more to her being a mutant than we knew about."

* "Chris Elliott is playing a very persnickety space probe that goes around censoring things that it thinks are indecent, and he finds nudity both interesting and offensive."

* "George Takai will be back." (no more info available)

* "[..] Al Gore will be rejoining us in our environmental-themed holiday episode [airing next season]. He will help explain the future versions of Christmas, Robanukah, and Kwanza, along with Coolio, a natural pairing"

* "Patton Oswalt will appear in next season, playing a character called Unattractive Giant Monster."

* "Katee Sackhoff is playing a visitor to Comic-Con who has a fetish for aliens. She threw herself into the role in an impressive fashion."
"I would be remiss if I didn't mention the first appearance by David X. Cohen, in the Comic-Con episode. "
"The heads of Matt Groening and David X. Cohen will appear on a panel of writers for the new show that Matt Groening has created in the Year 3010."

Finally, One of the bizarre moments on this Futurama season is a love scene between Dr. Zoidberg and Professor Farnsworth... Of course, it is quite touching in context. And arousing! Gasp!

Fr8monkey out!

+ more leela-flesh. I seriously support this. And I really hope that the show try to do some permament changes. It will hopefully keep the show fresh.

FR8monkey, I was going to post this, but got lazy.

Anyway, Futurama is less than a month away.

:woohoo:
