MP Demo Game.

I know some of you were interested in a Multiplayer Democracy game, but wanted to finish this one first.

Thought you might want a look into what's going on.

Been pretty interesting the the KEE Civil war and the new "Acts" proposed.

Acts help us act out international politics better.

The Dominion of the Balance and the Evil Empire are in a state of war. The KEE Empire (Under Talar) are on friendly terms with the Dominion of the Balance. The Imperial KEE Empire (Under Pellaken - Who lost the civil war) are attempting to rule China.

Where Pellaken goes.....trouble follows.

Anyway...you should take a look....for a future game.

Sheesh......I try to give a friendly FYI to people I KNOW where interested about the game.

And I get such a hostile response.

Read it...you might learn something about international politics.

Nothing hostile about it.

Since the group playing right now is very dedicated to finishing the game I doubt this post will have any effect on the game, unfortunately, prior 'friendly notices' almost killed this game.

And since some people remember what that did to this game, I'm leaving up to them. Hence the improptu poll.

Humm...Pellaken just admitted to cheating in the game....and cheating in the CFC game aswell.

I'm not talking about you specifically, just other posts that were made many moons ago that had similar topics that hurt the game a lot. I don't care if the posts are coming from you or anyone else, just the content of them.

Plus, let's not forget that you were not the only one who was involved with starting the game.

It was a good concept that was developed fairly well. But, because of certain elements it couldn't hold together. I'm here to make sure the game holds together, no matter what.

Don't try to make this a personal issue, because it's not.

As far as increasing the readership of the forum, it has grown quite a bit since I was asked to join it when it had 3 memebers. And I figure it will continue to grow. But, as long as I am able to be here, not at the expense of The Democracy Games.

Unfortunately, I'm not that surprised. What are you guys going to do? Let him keep playing? Or exile him to Poly?

I don't think you are trying to destroy the game. I think posts like the first one might hurt the game, so I'm very wary of it. Like I said before, the damage has already been done to this game (personally I like it better this way), but I need to make sure no more damage is done; by anyone.

I'm guessing some people weren't too happy with you leaving the game, but it was your choice to make, and you made it. I don't hold anything against you are anyone else who left. But, I'm going to do whatever it takes to keep the game going.

And, we are close to finishing the game, so people here might be interested in starting to find out more about the other game. Just that all of them know that if they leave before the game is done, I will hunt them down.

I vote for leaving it. Could be interesting to hear some gossip. So Pell cheated in this game you say? Did he say in what way? I vagely remember him proposing checking out effects of different governments before discussing any changes. As far as I remember he turned out to be the only one in favor of it...

I'd like to see some Pelly gossip as well, unbelievable how he's able to cause trouble wherever he goes. Such a shame he seems a nice guy after all. He cheated in this game too? In what way?
I've already joined demo MP game but I'll never abandon this game as this really has evolved to be a very good game and it would be such a shame to not see it finished. Besides, the crowd here at this game is a real good crowd, I wouldn't want to miss Kev's stories and the discussions over here.

If Pellaken cheated in this game then he can't have cheated very well because we weren't in a wonderful position when he deserted the throne.
If he was going to cheat then he may as well have done it properly. I don't remember having mech infantry in the 3rd century or anything.
Since he didn't post the locations of other civs, and well - we know them all now anyway, then the cheating didn't really affect the game as far as I can see. I don't know what he did though.
Our presidents have done well (with one particular exception ) and we deserve to be in the position we are. The trade routes set up by Kev have been the driving force in our technological domination of the other civs and all credit to him for it. He has shown himself to be a good person to make tight decisions that have been forced upon him (apart from the spy thing ), an expert on incremental rushing, and if we don't trample the other civs then I shall go and live in Simon's monastery.
So Cornmaster - you don't fancy participating in the discussions on this forum then? We have a vacant governorship if you'd like it .

So thats why everyone wants him to be banned from the demo game. I have been playing in both games for quit awhile now but very few people ended up playing both games...

Not very nice of Pelly, I didn't expect him to have done that. In our game it's no big deal as he didn't tell us but in the MP game it's really bad as he has an advantage over other players now.

I find it fascinating that Pelly revealed the entire map to himself and then went about sinking a trireme with units on it by moving it away from land - claiming he was trying to locate some civ or another.

Perhaps he was trying to prove to others that he didn't cheat in the first place

He sure did some whacky stuff and likely hindered more than helped with his gaming efforts. I'm glad that the game was not compromised in any way and that we'll be able to finish "untainted".

I'm very disappointed that someone like Pelly feels the need to do that. Why would you want to ruin a perfectly fun game for yourself let alone others? I mean, I wouldn't even use "shady" methods of finding cities in the dark . It's just so much more fun when played the way it was meant.

Oh, and duke: don't forget my sending a shipload of 5 howies about without escort Yeah, we're living on the edge over here in United Fanatica.

Hope the MP game will keep going despite Pelly's admittance. Please let those playing know that they can come on by here and read up on their beloved empire anytime. They should even speak up on things if they wish - it's still everyone's game.

I'd take a position but I work 45+ hours a week....and I just don't have time.
