I doubt we can beat the Council to space - they just need to make peace with BABE to get out of mobilization. If they get wind that we're close to building our ship, they can easily make peace and beat us to the punch.

We're already at war, so The Council doesn't risk much by building here. However, I'm not sure why they would build here. To protect us, since we didn't build on that island?

We have nothing in our In-Box from The Council, though the turn was sent at 5:37 pm on Friday and I downloaded it shortly thereafter.
 
That's what I first thought, too. Gongland is in danger.

And I still worry that it might be. But they would need a lot more units to do anything extensive. Mechs couldn't get that far on their first turn.

I'm wondering if this isn't an escape city, like Woodstock is for Babe?
