Yeah, you cannot cut and paste into chat and was discussing the value of moving to the hill rather than continue in a thread we overtook.

Yeah, it can be tricky to insert pics into some places.
I tend to settle on the tile my settler starts on 90% of the time. Even with the ordinary start (not boosted by bonuses in the menu) your capital seems to get a good distribution of resources within 3 tiles; and if you move, you risk loosing one or two of those. Of course moving your warrior, onto the hill it can reach, may reveal another tile before you have to decide whether to move your settler?
By moving onto a hill, you either loose the stone to the NW, or loose the river start. I'm guessing however that at the level you play, gaining the hill defense is probably worth loosing the stone? On King (which I'm back playing on) I'd settle on the spot.
