How many stars to you give civ rev

Ha! I, too, have take many Civ days from work because I have been up all night fighting Mongols. This game takes over your mind. Looking at the graphics from XXtra, I don't even recognise CivRev. Is it the top graphic? PS3 graphics are very different. They are sharp & beautiful. It gets...

Future Features You'd Like to See in Civ

I would like to see a history of the game when I finish. I want to watch a world map showing the rise & fall of civilisations. So much happens between the AI civs that I don't know about. Just what happened under those clouds?

Would this game have been better on the Wii?

Just did some research. The Wii is not made for HD TV. It only outputs with a resolution of 480. It is like something from the stone age.

Would this game have been better on the Wii?

Shots can look good but how does the game look when it is played. My friend has a Wii playing on a large full HD TV & the graphic are terrible. It is not HD, let alone Full HD. It don't even look like DVD (standard definition) quality. More like a PS2 on a bad day.

So what are you loving? Not loving?

The early PC Civ games had bigger manuals (one version even had a wall chart for technologies) but it was difficult to find what you wanted. I find the Civpedia in CivRev really easy to use. I pop in & out of it all the time. It is much faster than referring to printed manuals. I guess it...

    The AI has no personalities

I am trying to monitor if the behavior of AIs in CivRev are random. So far they seem consistent. The Mongols are always horrible. The Russians are consistantly agressive too. Not sure about this random claim.

    Trouble with the Great Library

Yes, I should not forget Leo's Workshop. I go for that one. Hollywood is good but very expensive! Apollo is important too if I am aiming for a technological victory. OK there are a few good ones but there are many I do not even consider (particularly if there are Mongols & Zulus at the door!)

So what are you loving? Not loving?

    I'm hoping for four!

    The AI has no personalities

The first game I ever played where nuclear weapons were used was when Gandhi nuked one of my cities. That was in Civ 1. I will never trust them again.

    Future of Civ

If Sid wants my money he will have to develop more Civs for PS3. I am never going back to PC versions.

Would this game have been better on the Wii?

CivRev looks beautiful in High Definition. To see it down graded to Wii standard would be a backwards step. Ugly.

Do Wonders cost too much to build?

I would not mind paying for them if they delivered better benefits for longer. I can do without most of them. I would rather concentrate on buildings.

    Trouble with the Great Library

I used to always build the Great Library on older Civs but in CivRev it is close to useless. With only four other civs playing, I need to be a backward civ before I get anything. I am not that backward. Come to think of it, I don't think there are many wonders worth the time & effort. What...

But is it fun to watch?

CivRev is great to watch. I discuss strategies & give advise freely. Then we argue. Watching is almost as much fun as playing.

    Additional civs?

I vote for Babylonians, Persians, Hittites, Carthaginians & Incas.
