I think you'll find that choosing the best leader depends on so many factors that it's impossible to name the best. It's impossible to even name those in the top tier. This is because we all have different playing styles, we all play with different settings and we play on different difficulties...
here here. Always random for me too... but I due adjust me strategy once I find who my leader is. and Alexander is a fav of mine in Multi: Phi for SE, which is better in multi since CE is more vunerable in mulit. Agr for combat which occurs me often in multi. and the UU is awesome in multi since...
well aside from choosing a state religion you also choose a religion civic. and it is the civic that in my mind defines how your civs religion is expressed.
Sure it may seem wierd to have overly aggressive buddist civs or have all of europe be hindu but that all part of civ. Just like how...
Hmm... I wasn't aware of that they weren't stackable, that's good to know. In that case they are definately on the weak side, but I still believe 50% to be a little much.
35% seems like it could make them a little more even with the other GG bonuses
At the moment the MA does seem a little weak but I still think it is balanced. Imagine if it was +50% instead of +25%: Just 2 GG could have the same effect as the heroic epic! That seems a little overpowered. Think of how rediculous that would be. Late in the game you could have 3+ HE cities! Or...
I think what he's trying to ask is whether unique units are supposed to be able to defeat the units designed to counter them. An example would be the pretorian, which can defeat an axeman.
I would say the answer is no. Most of the uu's are not able to defeat the unit that is supposed to...
Your right that's a great new idea... oh wait! it's already in the game!!
That what all the cover/shock/pinch and so on... promotions are for. They represent learing special tactics that counter a perticular unit type.
I disagree that unit should be "unstopable" until a certain promotion...
The alarm is one of the best features in Civ4. I use it almost everytime I play, and I usually adhere to the alarm. Although... there have been time where are I have instictually turned off the alarm and kept playing without realizing it until hours later...
Very rarely, I like the challenge of overcoming unfortunate starts, but if it's incredibly bad (as in a three tile island in the far north) than I'll usually play for a few turns to see if there's any hope, and then quit, although a usually save those games anyway( for the days when I really...
Ok... this thread is getting a little off topic...
Back to the matters at hand: I agree that the caravel should remain as is, but does anyone else believe that the game could use another ship, buildable the same time as the caravel, that, like the frigate, is for military use only?
and as for...
Here's my solution. Make another ship that is available at the same time as caravels and is useable only as a military craft. It could go over oceans and it could pillage but it could not go into other's territories like the caravel and it could not transport any units.
