I've only played a few hours, but so far I love the new Diplomacy system. Also, overall, the world seems a lot more dense, full of things, which is a good thing! But, my only gripe so far: How do I turn off these ten million diplomacy notifications?? I mean, chatty leaders is legit...

If that beautiful selection of music at the start is from BE, then some of it brilliantly outshines anything else in the series before and since (and possibly including) Chris Tin's Baba Yetu. Also: information overload! Whew!

Also, though this is embarrassing, I have more than once built workers in Civ5 before I had researched appropriate improvements. It's frustrating to have to park a worker who can't build / chop what you need him to, while he eats up precious revenue.

I totally get your struggle with the contrast - I still haven't played Civ 5 as Siam or the Aztecs b/c the faction color-combinations are so ugh to me. But I actually like the fungal-blue. It's already suitably alien, but it also reminds me of the glowing-fungus biomes in Terraria ^_^
