    Buildings

I actually like the idea. If a '3' is normal, then 1 and 2 are downgrades and 3 and 4 are upgrades, so that you could build on the lower end or higher end depending on your situation. It would also be neat if this system eliminated building wonders of the world so that the first person to...

    Civ 5 - less units!?

I kind of like the idea of one unit type per tile that was suggested earlier by Tom, one ranged, one melee, one mounted, etc. Although I'm not really put off by the one unit per tile, the one unit type per tile just seems like the better solution to unit sprawl, to me, and I've actually been...

    In-Game historical events

I don't think you should give any bonus for being the first to discover a tech - getting the tech first is reward enough. You can make money trading it, get a head start on building the wonder, etc., no need for additional stuff IMHO. Now, as for other events... CTP2 had some good ones...

What type of grid system would you like in Civilization?

Icosahedral Hexagonal Grid See here ...and here The second shows a pretty good picture of Earth.

    ...to answer your question...

It pops up under the CFC logo at the top of the page, throwing my screen alignment out of whack... really damn annoying.

    ...to answer your question...

I just haven't really felt like it. How's that?

    World History Mod development thread

No problem. I was humoursly understating the power of the computer there...:D I think the XXL mod has the size written in plots, so you have to multiply it by 4 for the number of tiles, IIRC.

    World History Mod development thread

...Just FYI, I've successfully run a game with 75 civilizations on a Gigantic map (XXL Mod), though you could only fit each civ with very few cities (only 1 for some civs) on that map size. I do have an above average computer at the moment though: OS: Windows Vista 64 Ultimate SP1 Video...

    Worker Assignment Grid Layer

There could be an option on the Option tab to support the example you give here, for example, something like 'Maintain minimum hammers per city' with a user definable amount - but of course, there's a default value here... And that's what I prefer most about my version verses the OP's...

    Worker Assignment Grid Layer

For the most part, yes. Why would you not want the improvement that gives you the largest bonus? Well, the AI should take friendliness into account anyway when doing worker tasks, which it doesn't - but should... not really a good example.

    Worker Assignment Grid Layer

I like the idea, in general, and have actually had a very similar idea forming in my head for some time now - I was getting ready to post it here in the next couple of hours, but I'll drop it in this thread instead. What I don't like about your system is that you force too much micromanagement...

    Roads done a little differently

True, but I really dislike the tedium of workers and would like to see them go entirely, but that's another thread isn't it...?

    Post map requests here

I'd like to see an Earth map using Fuller's Projection. Ideally, it would be equal to the Gigantic map size in XXL Mod or larger (in terms of number of tiles, not exact map dimensions).

    Roads done a little differently

I used to like the "different types/levels of roads" idea that you describe here, but now I prefer to simply have roads that start with say 1/2 movement, but later technologies improve this to 1/3, then 1/4, then 1/5, etc., while similarly there is only one "rail" improvement, which might start...
