    September Update Thread

Re: adjacency bonus. I feel like they should revamp even more. Theatre Square: +0.5 culture for each adjacent mountain +1 culture if built on cliff +1 culture if built on river +1 for each adjacent natural wonder +1 if there’s an adjacent lake +1 if there’s an adjacent oasis. Aqueduct: can be...

True value of Spain`s unique ability (harnessing wonders VS 1st discovery gold)

I once had a second city with King Solomon mine on a predominantly desert terrain, and got Petra. That was a good feeling. I think the best natural wonder for Spain is GBR. 1000g, very good yields (science, food, prod, gold) and with One With Nature, also 16 faith. Fountain of Youth giving 20...

What to do with early gold pile?

Usually settler or library for 3rd city. But I do spend some gold to buy some important tiles to be worked in the city. Archer is also a good option Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Getting Religion at Turn 52 on Immortal (Epic Speed)

Yeah if you find a faith NW within first three turns, or settle your capital next to one then you can get religion even before turn 15. Problem is that unless it's Uluru or Sri Pada where you also have food, it's better to invest only one turn to get early pantheon, then shift back to pop to...

What do you think of Exploration (policy tree)?

Is there's any deity let's play that involves adopting full exploration tree? Would love to see that Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Getting Religion at Turn 52 on Immortal (Epic Speed)

Pathfinder is awesome. But I got to agree, Spain settling 2nd and 3rd cities on faith NW then you adopt One With Nature for +8 faith each per NW is crazy. I got a religion with Spain once before turn 30 (was very very lucky) Edit: turn 30 not 20 Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    4th ring culture

If you're in a turtle game with very little war, hence no great general, try to but a city state with oil then improve their resource. Otherwise, like others recommended, buy all the purple rings until your next natural expansion goes to the oil tile. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Culture and tourism seem pointless when it comes to ideologies.

Did you start on your tourism late? The rise and fall of your culture/tourism is affected by the history. Also note that other Civs except you and Greece all have Order Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Question about Great People

Scientist engineer and merchant don't get scaled by eras. Prophet costs more as a new one gets generated. First prophet minimum faith generation is 200, then 300, 500, 800, 1200, 1700 and so on. The cost of engineer could have gone up when a new great scientist of merchant is born Do note that...

    Question about Great People

I'm not sure on the maths but here's the basics: - great scientist, merchant and engineer all affect each other. Once one of them is born, it raises the cost of the next one of all three - great artist, writer, and musician cost separately - great prophet is also separate but he gets chance to...

People are getting all set to attack you. Then change their minds.

Maybe they got an intrigue from another civ that their city is being targeted? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Range vs Logistics

I prefer range. Doesn't need to plan for positioning much. I usually pair them with a horse unit for sight issues. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

AI is definitely programmed to build wonders 1 or 2 turns before the player.

Bagan? That's an ancient city in Mandalay, Burma. But it's not one of the default wonders in Civ5. Do you mean Borobudur? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

AI is definitely programmed to build wonders 1 or 2 turns before the player.

I always thought the same thing until I put a spy in AI town, see that the AI is building the same wonder and was 1 turn ahead, proceed to maximize production for my own city and beat the AI instead. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
