Yes armor units are land units. It is best to take the ground bonus promotions for your bombers, then take the armor bonus to add some extra power against landships, tanks, modern armour and GDRs.
The bonus vs armor is more an enhancement for anti land bombers rather than a promotion you'd...
If I was playing on King I'd go for Scout, worker until pottery finishes, Shrine once pottery finishes > finish worker > Temple of Artemis. If the opportunity presents itself I'll steal a worker from a Mercantile or Military CS and forego building my own worker.
The growth and Great Engineer...
I build Temple of Artemis in every game at Immortal Level. The bonuses, plus the guaranteed Great Engineer to build Leaning Tower or Sistine Chapel (usually both) is just too much to pass up on. Even when starting next to expansionist neighbours I have still incorporated into my playstyle. The...
I made sure I said "usually" instead of "only".....however by the time a proper navy comes into play can't you just use Privateers to capture other ships? Maybe Ottoman Privateers should have some added bonus, like increased chance to capture so that part of their UA is not made redundant by a...
Yes they do, I often choose Freedom and build Statue of Liberty then switch to Order. The specialist production bonus from SOL still applies even though I'm not following Freedom anymore.
Yep, all the little synergies you can get with various resources and terrain and pantheons is one of my favourite and satisfying aspects of the game. Sun God + tons of Citrus/Wheat/Banana or your example with camps are two of the best examples.
I had only initially played Civ 1 and 2 before...
Whoops, forgot to add that I snagged Desert Folklore after finding a 30 faith Ancient Ruin, talk about everything aligning, although I think I held off from claiming the ruin until turn 20+ to allow it to be a faith one.
I haven't posted a save/screenshot on here before but I'll figure it out...
Haha I've never played as the Ottomans and probably never will.
Really drab and uninspiring colours, its UA will usually just give you an extra Trireme or two and they are still just as unwieldy and weak as ever. Naval combat doesn't become fun until navigation. The Janissary is ok but the...
Once in a while I like to play a leisurely game where I don't intend to challenge myself too much or try to win as fast as possible.
My recent Morocco game where I bee-lined for Petra is a prime example.
My starting terrain was ridiculous, all desert with a few patches of plains up north...
Austria doesn't have any bonuses that would allow them to rush buy frigates better than any other Civ, except maybe the extra gold from City States they have married?
I don't really care about winning games as fast as possible, however in a deity match saving those extra few turns could result in you winning just in time as opposed to losing. I have lost space victories by a couple of turns which could have been averted had I filled out Rationalism quicker or...
I always use Legendary Start as I love seeing an abundance of resources near each capital. I think it is a great setting for Venice.
For some reason I manage to snag a lot of wonders as Venice on Immortal which I usually miss playing other Civs. I'm guessing that the extra science penalty...
