Also for C5 now it seems more likely that it is the Ottomans for me. The leader thumbnail in the recent video reminds more of an Ottoman ruler than Saladin. I think it might be Mehmet. Given the tweet, I think we can interpret the photo to be a horseman facing us, with walls in the background...

Hmm interesting I could see that as a possibility, though the face appears to be small in that case, and the rest of the "clothing" seems off then. I'm more inclined to go with the new theory of the horseman just because it shows a portrait rather than profile view of the leader. All the other...

I can see it. This is helpful though because if we consider the right arm, then the background seems to be a bit clearer: I see a dome-ish structure in the back?! Or a ship?! Lol I guess its' still as ambiguous It could also be that he's holding a ball in each hand, which could be significant?

Now that I think about it, as people mention before it seems more likely C5 is based on a 2-D representation (e.g. carving/frieze/etc.). Why is it the only one with a truly profile view? This hints that no portraits, albeit accurate ones, exist.

Yeah I looked into Mughal rulers too (as it would fit in alphabetically) and Babur, Humayun, Akbar, and Aurangzeb look similar to the photo in their poses, headwear, etc. but I couldn't find an exact match.

Wait maybe Timur for C5?!? I don't know what his civilization would be given the alphabet, but this is really close to the blurred picture!! I realize this picture isn't the exact one they use: the lighting and background are different and headwear is a tad off, but I think this is a good lead.
