I'm getting a "Cannot read CD" error when i try playing CIV4 or BTS. I installed it okay, but it doesn't believe i have the DVD anymore... anyone have a solve? I have the actuall DVD's, and installed it on windows vista (which seems to be the problem.. stupid vista).

That explains a lot I was actually Jewish, but my ally was hindu, so i got the hindu-building bonuses. Irritatingly enough, he got the Univ of Saklore (which i built) bonuses on his Hindu buildings rather than his Jewish ones.... so he had to build less stuff. Hotseat alliance games are odd...

Purple city could be rather hilarious in late game if you cover it's fat cross with forest preserves and add a national park. Probably not a smart strategy, but i've always wanted to see someone do that. :lol:

Expansive is fine. cheap granaries are great. Now, Imperialistic, that needs a boost. Cheap settlers is a losing preposition compared to cheap buildings. Once you have a decent production city or two, cheap settlers is virtually a non-issue, while cheap buildings in new. low-production...

They totally need to add Theodora to Civ IV. She could take over spiritual/imperialistic, while Justinian goes Spiritual/Industrious (he did build a heck lot of monuments)

In a recent hotseat allied game I was playing with a friend, we somehow made it so that all Hindu buildings give +2 hammers. We have no clue just how we triggered this. Anyone know what's going on? (hindu temples are now quite attractive to build though... wheee)

Good call on the hippodromes. Since you'll be pumping the culture slider anyway, why not go for a cultural victory. I'm told that a specialist powered cultural victory is quite interesting.
