    When Civ 7 DOES release!

Immediately. I want to get as much playtime in with the pristine version before the ultrarealist lobby has a chance to ruin a core game mechanic (see July 2019 cav nerf).

When Civilization was the most fun?

Any time prior to July 2019 (cav nerf).

    Civ6 unpopular opinions thread

The July 2019 cav nerf update removed a dimension of play (the medieval-modern era blitzkrieg) thereby diminishing the game & making warmongering more of a slog.

why did civ 6 steam rating increased?

I'm not sure when the ratings started to spike & haven't played more than 3 games of Civ6 after July 2019 cav nerf (I have 5797 hours logged on STEAM), but think the reason the ratings are increasing may be Humankind. It's just not nearly as good a game as Civ (so people are happier with Civ)...

Next Civ game most likely will be a fantasy game

I wonder if that means we could sprinkle some pixie dust on cavalry and allow them to attack walls again? :nono:

    Is Byzantium OP?

You had me excited there for a minute! Then I found they had to follow the same religion. ARGH. May as well be a zone of control :)

A Deity Strategy for Spain Utilizing Religion for Domination

No problem. I haven't played much at all past the July 2019 cav nerf & am glad the strategy is still viable/useful.

You ever single player rage quit?

Yeah, I agree. There doesn't seem to be much point in warring between the game opening and advent of bombers/GDR's. By that point, if I do war, it's just to close a science victory a bit sooner. Early war and late war now, but nothing in between without a slogathon. And I used to think the wait...

You ever single player rage quit?

I rage quit my latest game (a no Lavra Russia, campus spam science run). I was warring vs. America to pass the time as I progressed through the tech tree when 2 of my artillery armies were dispatched by rough riders. I then realized that my various cav support armies had absolutely no hope...

    [R&F] Abu al-Qasim al-Zahrawi - retain or retire?

When Mamluk's could assault walls I'd build as many campi as possible with Arabia and try to recruit him. Often I'd have to pay allot of gold but more often than not I could grab him. Once he's recruited it was essentially game over (other than all the fun I had decimating AI's with medic...

A Deity Strategy for Eleanor of Aquitaine

Yep. Catch a civ out in a dark age when you're golden, throw in a few indie bands and it's all over! I'm neither here nor there. Maybe there should be hardcoding increasing the asking price when selling great works to Eleanor or civs close to a CV. I've seen some weird flips as well. The ones...

A Deity Strategy for Eleanor of Aquitaine

Wish I could offer something helpful but I've by and large soured on the game post cav nerf and haven't kept up with the updates. Infantry/anti-cav is too slow to make this work IMO. I mean, it may work, but not as presented in my original post.

The quality of Civ 6 information online

"Japan gets bonuses for having units on coastal tiles. That means you should always look to settle near the ocean. An early-game navy is always nearly unstoppable." This strikes me as Breaking Wind/Passing Gas. He seems to have taken the Divine Wind ability to a whole 'nother level!

    Diplomatic Victory Elimination Thread

    3. Catherine/France [23] 5. Cleopatra/Egypt [28] 8. Eleanor/France [6] (5+1) --- I am no expert at diplomatic victories but fail to see how taking cities without penalty will not help. Diplo victories are long & drawn out. I'd wager you could flip an entire empire (or two or three) before...

    Itchy Again

True. Warmongering is hard on the hand. Many less clicks for a peaceful victory.
