    Earth 1862 AD

I'd like to thank you for making this scenario. Gobbled up about 30 hours of free time with it. I liked a few things a lot. Starting with a few of the same buildings in every city caused me to form new strategies, same with the position in the tech tree. It was fun to play as Mexico and as...

    3.17 Patch: Impressions Thus Far

I don't see how the siege weapon change is a big deal. I almost always use city raider on siege, and I very rarely attack the AI stack outside of a city. I just CR the siege and suicide a few and then wipe out the entire stack using a medic general to heal them afterwards.

    Deity level

One of the best things about Civ4 for me was learning to play with minimal reloading. If you save and reload too much you cannot learn from critical mistakes that you make.

    Sex of civ players

Seems to me most female players play MMOs or casual browser based games at the moment. I would wager that these types of games make up the vast majority of PC gaming at the moment.

Civilization Revolution, Is it worth it?

60 bucks for watered down civ? Nah. Seems okay though based on the demo.

    demo bug ? unlimited time

This is an enticing bug. I hope you are being serious because I will probably try to play a few times until this bug happens and I can get a real game going.

    Is BUG MOD an exploit?

I won't call it cheating to have the information handed to you, and in a game like WoW I craved mods that presented the info more easily. However this is Civ and I think that part of learning how to win on higher difficulty levels is learning from mistakes, and gaining an eye for detail. If...

    Sury won't talk..... help!!!!!

Also if you don't have open borders you can order your units to move into his land to start the war.

We need a new Japanese Leader

While this is true, it's fun to play as Japan in the Earth18civs scenario. Samurai show up at a good time.

What's the better National Park city?

I agree on Bactra. Although hypothetically it could go in Walata but you would need to add farms and mines. Aside from the National Epic debate, there's another reason to have food and infrastructure in the National Park city; you need to build all of the production buildings to really get...

I'm glad I'm not the only one who feels this way.

Question on scout and worker AI

So I played around with BetterAI before BTS came out, and it had features for these two units. It made scouts explore closest to your borders first, and would allow automated workers to continue cottages in cottage cities and farms and mines in production cities. I'm not saying it was perfect...

    Gifting units to be slaughtered

Well not sure what I think about this strategy but I would think it would be critical to have a stack of warriors ready to get slaughtered, so you would have to work building them into the overall strategy. I mean I always end up building some; maybe this strategy would work better if you had...

    What a load of trash!

Much more could be said on this issue but I think what's key to getting over the first big hump in the learning curve is understanding that the moves you make pre-1000 BC are really important. You can't just dilly dally around and randomly try to build and research things. You have to have a...

SE ys CE and workshop economy [;)] in relationship to the terrain...

Generally I go SE or CE based on terrain. However, CE is tough to get going early, especially because the capital has a lot of critical builds and the second city is usually a production city for me. So I'll go CE at this point if I decide to found 3 more cities before any war, and I'll start...
