So, what's new in Civ 6 Multiplayer?

Hi everyone! I haven't bought Civ 6 yet, and I'm wondering if someone can make a summary of multiplayer features. Last time I checked, Firaxis revealed very little about this. They say you could use mods and everyone in the same game would share it automatically. They also talked about "new...

Initial civfan reactions to Civ 4

Thanks for this! Indeed, nostalgia can be very misleading and biased. Except in the case of Civ 3. I remember it by its repetitive, annoying sound every time you engaged in diplomacy; its unplayable, little new cities with a lot of corruption and inefficiency; its basic, moody music. I'm...

    Small Pet Peeves

Pet peeve: why is Buenos Aires an INDUSTRIAL city? I would understand if it was cultural or commercial, but industrial... By the 1920s this city had few factories, and the rest was workshops. Even today it isn't famous for its manufactures.

    Dropping the Bomb in Civ6

Even though I've never been to Hiroshima, I get what you mean: I only used a nuke once, and not even because I needed to. I just wanted to see what happened. And then the animation of the explosion appeared and "Field of poppies" started being played in the background. It was horrifying. I know...

    Greece First Look (Pericles) Video

Well, this civ looks BORING. I'm usually not this emphatic but I can't hide it: the Hoplite is bland, the Acropolis is another "get extra yield" thing and the LUA seem generic. Even Pericles sounds tired. I'm not saying Greece is weak or overpowered. I'm just saying it could benefit from a...

What do you think about the icon of Spain?

Aren't we all sure that icon is one of the new religious "neutral" icons (astrological signs) and things got misplaced in this build?

    First Look: Spain

I'd never expect to say this, but here's a Spanish monarch that looks handsome :D So... Spain sounds like a very interesting civ! I love how the bonus are so nicely tied to the historical simulation. Missions in foreign continents that also give science? Conquistadores imposing religion in...

    Small Pet Peeves

My pet peeve is that you receive a full-screen leader animation just to tell you things like "we agree on this". It was very annoying in Civ 5 (how many times can you stand the leaders announcing that they became friends with another leader? It's lovely ONLY the first time). They should follow...

    Brazil - Pedro II Thread

Yes, I know that story, it's great. And I'm aware that most (but not all) of the portraits were idealized. Anyway, in the case of Pedro we have daguerreotypes, and you can see he was quite similar to the paintings. Even in his advanced age he possesed an air of wisedom and intelligence that...

    Brazil - Pedro II Thread

Yeah, Pedro was pretty good looking when he was young. Besides, I know he's supposed to be a caricature, and caricatures tend to exaggerate traits, but it's weird they chose to make such a big nose. If you look at the paitings and photos, I'd never say it's one of his most noticeable features...

Which Civ will be reveal this week? (week of Aug. 2nd)

THIS. I really hope India and Arabia will get the best religious bonus in the game this time around. They were nations where major cults were born (especially India). It was weird enough that, in Civ 5, the great organized religions ended up being founded by... the Celts

    Aztec - Montezuma I Thread

You're right! I didn't notice but I think it's a shield, which sported feathers. Anyway, there are too many feathers for my taste. At least he hasn't that stereotyped skull in his headdress. I love your analysis about synergy! But I must point that religion was the decisive factor in Aztec...

    Aztec - Montezuma I Thread

I knew you'd appear! Also, Eagle Warriors can only turn defeated enemies into Builders if they're NOT barbarians. So I guess early wars against city-States are in order. I hope that doesn't imply a HUGE diplomatic penalty as it was in Civ 5...

    Aztec - Montezuma I Thread

Precisely! I would have loved the Aztecs to have a geography related bonus and other civs not having it (France, Spain, for example). But, alas, there's no use in complaining now! They're not gonna change the aztecs just because I'm unhappy about that little thing :p Bonus track...

    Aztec - Montezuma I Thread

Oh, I got that, I'm not a fan of geography dependence either, but so far every civ in 6 (except China) has something about that: continents with Teddy and Vicky, coastline with Hojo, rivers with Cleo. Given that the aztecs built a city in the middle of a lake and that they were famous for...
