Not played much civ for ages... but this one was a good returning game!
I took the contendor start and it's been fun! Executed a CS sling with a maths bulb. The UB was a fantastic boon.
Expansion wise, I'd shoved a couple of cities over to the W bordering with the french, then expanded to...
Back from my wanderings... If you ever feel too happy with life, I can suggest 4 hours trying to explain data to a roomfull of 'blue sky thinking' marketing people. Throw in a really early start, a long train journey and a mild hangover to round the experience out...
Shame on the glib there...
Hello! Sorry for the delay, been off on a series of meetings around the country and currently away for the weekend.
Looks good there. Seems likes things are moving on nicely! I'd kinda consider going for Monotheism at some point fairly soon, cost reduction on Monarchy and as we're confucian...
I start the turnset by pull the MC for Calendar trade with Peter. He even throws 5 gold in. Woo! Beg 40g from Willie. Music should be in 6, we shall see!
Minimap after Calendar:
Look for micro changes. There are none. Kinda expected there!
Turn 118 - Peglegs bush. Axe > Forge. Move...
Cheers for the feedback.
Sorry! Did indeed mean Glib. Not sure where GLH came from... although a second one would be pleasant.
I'll leave the village alone and we can try our luck later. :)
Was going to settle island spot 1S, definitely need the hills.... as for a second city there...
Had a look at the save.
Think it's time for a short spurt of 'vertical growth' once the two new cities are down.
Notes before play:
1) HR Revolt on turn 1. Grow!
2) Is the tribal villlage to the NW of the island being saved for a shot at Astro?
3) Found Iron/Clam/Wheat + banana...
Lymond - really enjoyed your youtube video, slightly overan my lunchbreak watching it. Nice to see some good micro set to a soothing voice! Damn that runaway warrior, hate it when that happens...
Think I'm up next.
Will DL the save after work, have a look through and come back with some...
Nocho, nice turnset there.
Sounds like a thorough plan there... all sounds good to me.
Will have a look into recording. How hard can it be?
Apologies for late reply, been a weekend of daytime drinking and BBQs. Which is nice, but not 100% productive! Will look more tomorrow :)
Think the plan sounds good.
Although not totally sure about the trade with Joao (why do my fingers always want to type Jaoa for him?)... IIRC, he's christian and may well be the hated figure over there - is the happy worth the 'cancel deals' diplomatic penalties?
For the Islam bit, I reckon Oracle > Theology and then use a GP to (part?) bulb Divine Right is a good route.
Think you'd need to research Writing + Mono before the oracle finishes and then have both Meditation/Poly and also Monarchy (pre-req for DR) before the bulb.
Great Prophet bulb...
MC Bulb does seem a great idea to me. Colossus does seem to make a lot of sense with the setup, cities and copper.
Monarchy would be good, are we aiming to trade for it?
I was idly wondering if there's anything to be learned from our neighbours espionage spending, do they know anyone else?
Cheers! I shall eagerly anticipate the PM! :D
I did go for the NW wines spot. It just worked out well for right now - it's close and the worker turns to get it up and running allowed for a hill to be mined for the oracle project... almost a free city.
The southern site is a fantastic one...
Here we go.
I cancel the Scout. Switch to a settler.
We have PH due in 4. 4 warriors (3 in capital) and 4 workers. Nice. We can definitely support another city with this mix.
We only have a single 'big hammer' tile in the city, so intending to whip overflow the settler into the Oracle...
I would likewise love to sign up, but aware of the dangers of SG feasting, so I won't!
Good luck with it and shall eagerly lurk... great variant idea. :D
