    It's just ok? Somewhat underwhelming?

I'm very pleasantly surprised with the game. I tried the demo last year for Stadia and thought it sucked and didn't really think I'd enjoy it. But now I'm thinking it gives Civ a really good run for its money and with some future DLC and patches we may have a new leader in the 4X world history...

Humankind - My Thoughts after Three Full Games

I'm playing my first full game, and I noticed how important influence is early on in the game if I wanted to grow so I did quite a bit to make sure it was growing. Now I'm in the medieval era and I have a ton of it and nothing to spend it on. It's disappointing to learn that this isn't going to...

How Are You Liking The Barbarians Game Mode?

Well yeah, I know. But my point is it just wasn't fun to never actually play with any barbarians, they just were badly placed city states by the time I encountered them. It made the game pretty meh.

How Are You Liking The Barbarians Game Mode?

I've only played one game with them, and it was pretty disappointing. There was a barb camp near my capital that a city state wiped out, but after that I never encountered another barbarian the rest of the game. There were no barbarians raiding me or roaming the countryside or anything. I...

    [NFP] What's your favorite expansion?

I voted for Rise and Fall. Gathering Storm is nice but honestly the global warming stuff doesn't do that much for me because all of my games are decided before it ever has any impact. Rise and Fall actually changed how I have to play the game by caring about ages and governors.

[NFP] Monopolies and Corporations Game Mode Discussion Thread

So I haven't followed the whole thread, but I just played my first game with the monopolies and corporations on, and I was a little underwhelmed. Maybe in my particular game the corporations just didn't kick in until so late that it didn't have a chance to make a difference and I was already so...

So, 'New Frontier' has not altered the basic paradigm of Civ6.

I haven't read all of the messages on the forum, but I play Emperor and Immortal and tend to delay campuses in favor of other strategies. Sometimes military, but I win starting with culture and economy and religion a lot too, depending on what Civ I have and how the map plays out for me. So I...

    Streaming Civ?

Just an update, I've had Stadia for 4 days now and it's working really, really well! Please Firaxis, release Civ for it! It's the perfect game for the cloud. :D I don't get what you mean by it can't be used as a hand-held console. It can play on a phone (so far only Pixel, but that will...

    Streaming Civ?

Yes, you need an internet connection as the games are on the cloud. You don't need a good machine to run the games (Chromebooks can run the games just as well as they can play YouTube videos), you just need an internet connection. Sure, I can download a game now on my computer and play it...

    Streaming Civ?

I'm really hoping it comes out for the Stadia. I'm a Google geek and pre-ordered a Stadia despite knowing there's a possibility Google may give up on it like they have done before with some of their products. But I think Civ would be the perfect kind of game for the Stadia. The potential lag...

Civilization coming to Xbox and PlayStation 4

Sadly, I think that means the end to expansions and the Civ VI development cycle. Based on nothing but just a hunch.

What do you miss the most from previous versions of Civ?

I agree with this too. I hate how tourism is just a bucket that has no affect on gameplay at all.

What do you miss the most from previous versions of Civ?

I haven't read through all of these posts, but from the ones I did read I haven't seen it and it surprises me: The zoom out ability in Civ IV to look at the map in a more global view. I loved that so much as a way to monitor my empire and go from the look at my few cities to a grander view of...
