Ha Ha. Sometime I think about this but then I stop.
Very early in the morning I often drink my coffee and play it but not long. Working at Marlboro I get free stuff. Join me online I say then we talk funny.
Ha Ha. Sometime I think about this too again.
I agree.
What's all the negativity about Steam?
I quite like Steam. It has an excellent selection. It's a great venue for independent companies to market their games. I've bought lots of games I never would have considered if it wasn't for Steam.
My suspicion is that some of the people who hate...
I'd vote no to refining. I don't mind complexity but not just for the sake of complexity. I want more fun/gameplay way before adding in complexity.
Also, I always worry for each feature they add, they need to make sure the AI can actually use it effectively. I'd rather they spend the time...
My thoughts exactly. The biggest weakness of Civ V was the diplomacy. I preferred IV's diplomacy. It seemed more in depth. You could actually make friends that lasted. Alliances that meant something. Vassals were cool as well.
If the diplomacy was at the level or better than IV in V, Civ V...
Everything that I've read, Civ 6 has been in development for years. Now that BE is done and XCOM 2 is out, I suspect we'll hear about it before summer.
My understanding is that the team working on XCom and BE are different than would be working on Civ 6 so they wouldn't have had to hold off...
There are likely several reasons for features to be "missing".
Certainly, 2K had given a deadline for the game to be completed. I'm sure the team looked at all the features they could think to include and had to pick the ones they found most interesting and doable in the time given. They...
I completely agree. Take a look at the Steam stats. I think only 0.5% of all players have beaten the game on Deity. From that, I'd say it does live up to the billing.
People often complain about the AI and make it seem as though it's a simple task to improve it. If it was easy, it would have...
I'd say the fact that people are still playing a 6 year old game and it still sits in the top 10 is a testament to its quality.
Civ V had very good support by Firaxis. There have been may patches to fix issues. Certainly, it's not perfect but Firaxis has done well tweaking it.
For me...
I thought Civ V was great and it still occupies my time 5 years on. If it wasn't for the weak diplomacy it would be the definitive version of the series. Right now IV and V both compete for that title in my view.
I do disagree that it was made for newbies/children. Some say it was dumbed...
Despite the disappointing diplomacy in Civ V (it's quite a bit better in Civ IV) I still say V is the superior game.
It's tremendously enjoyable. I hope they really beef up diplomacy for Civ VI.
Actually, examples would be helpful. I'm always curious about what gameplay issues people have.
The tactical AI can be weak but it's immensely improved from what it was at release.
The one thing I'll say in support of Firaxis is they don't have unlimited time or money. To develop a...
Ha. I've never seen that before. It's actually funny.
Diplomacy was always and still is Civ V's weakpoint.
Hopefully, Civ VI gets an improvement. By improvement, I don't want then just to plug in BERT's interesting but still boring system.
I'd like a hybrid of VI, V, BERT, and new ideas.
Really excellent point. I've only played one game of BERT so far but what you've said here is very consistent with my experience. There really was no pressure for space from the AI at all. Hopefully, this gets some attention from the Devs as one the best parts of the early game in any civ game...
I expect Civ VI to be released with several Civ V features gone but I'm fine with that. I want a different game not just a graphical update. I understand frustration with missing features though.
As far as the release date goes, do you really think it will be that late? You may be right but...
