Mac Users Play ModAcken - Challenge #1

Given how few threads are in S&T I don't think anyone would have a problem with it being here. Even though it's mod specific, those who don't have the mod may still be able to learn about Civ V in different ways from the write-ups. Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk

Having trouble with early expansion and science

Great, that's good to hear. You have discovered the other benefit of worker stealing - the effected AI gets a serious set-back. Even on deity they will fall behind quickly and are much easier to finish off a bit later in the game. To make things simple and improve more rapidly, I'd suggest...

    Opinion: Archipelago = Fun?

I also love it but the experience is ruined by how bad the AI is at it. Not only are they terrible at naval battles, but they seem to be seriously hurt by the lack of excessive land to improve.

Sorry, the original statement was 2 scouts and 3 if there isn't a good shrine option. That was what I was referring to.

There is a time I would have agreed with you, but the more I've played and the better I've gotten my opinion of scouts has increased dramatically. 3 scouts on pangaea is very good advice, but obviously you need to use them well.

    Stitched up?

Nah, there's a chance of dying to barbs any game. It's extremely rare, OP was either very unlucky or took a bad risk (or both). I can't imagine not using my starting warrior to scout just because I heard the barbs were a bit of a rough crowd in this one.

And it only took him a few years to solve the trade bug. I guess they will use that as a case question when they interview the new guy.

I don't mean to shamelessly promote my own videos, but in this case I think they would be quite helpful. I will do it just this once and then never again :mischief: I made a few short guides that I think would help you out quite a bit: Scouting & Worker Stealing Growth Defense Economy I think...

best social policies for domination victory?

To those looking to respond, I think it would be helpful to go through how terrain/neighbors/expected start of war time changes ideal policies. For instance, tradition if you are starting at bombers vs a CB rush with liberty (if this is indeed the case). Also, how do you determine which window...

    World AI Free For All!

I think because you aren't actually playing Civ V, just watching the AI play. As I care so much about the strategy aspect, it seems like it would kill what I enjoy the most. However, Civ is such an interesting game this idea still works by relying on its other strengths - something I didn't...

    Immortal difficulty a bit too...Immortal

This was standard speed right? Every 10 turns isn't really that good, the size 22 capital is actually quite small for a game that went that long. You should probably want your capital at least 35+ in the late game and your other cities at least size 15. The high population is how you get the...

    Help with jungle start

When I have a heavy jungle start, I plan to get a huge amount of early workers and rip almost all of it out. Definitely if there is a river it gets a farm, if its a hill its a mine. Last time I had something like 9 workers for 4 cities when I was stuck in a situation you described. I think I...
