I like it. Played a game as Carthage last night and did not experience any lag time. I didn't see any increase in the wait between turns and enjoyed it for the the first time in a while!
YES, I'll pre-order it as soon as it is available. I've pre-ordered all CIV games and expansions since I first discovered CIV II.
I know CIV 5 was a slap in the face, all the DL content "nickle & diming" is insulting BUT like a bad news girlfriend with a hot body, I just cant keep my hands...
Just finished a game on standard speed, Mediterranean map, playing Hittites. I had no crashes and it ran smooth. I liked the tech tree and the wonders. I thought it was a lot of fun and will probably start another game tonight. Thanks Dude :goodjob:
It's kinda like running to the tree on Christmas morning...opening the huge shinny present you've been hoping for and getting a BIG GIANT f-you from Firaxis for Christmas
ALWAYS Carthage in CIV IV but since they are not yet available I tend to play the Persians and Darious.
To be honest I bounce around and have used almost all of them at one point or another, but I tend to stick to the more ancient civs. This is my favorate era of the game.
I play a lot of games (usually HUGE map on King with all civs and 12 City States). I NEVER make a DOF, nor do I denounce anyone EVER. I usually remain friendly with most of the civs and any denouncements or even DOW don't hurt my long term relations.
I almost always play with Raging Bards (King Level). It seems to me that there are never MORE barb camps on the screen at any one time, however, I believe that the barb camps re-spawn faster once they are destroyed.
When I play a "peaceful" game I still engage in wars, I just don't DOW unless I'm forced into a corner by an alliance or just NEED a key piece of ground. Most times I drag out a war that has been declared on me to get experience for my units.
