I found the icons in my games folder (if you are running either windows 7 or vista) and placed them on the desktop. However they were just images of the cover of the game, so i had to to go properties and change the icon to it´s original form from there.

Well the fact that the New World is populated by barbarians, might offend some. Not me though, as i think of it in a gameplay perspective. If the american civ would start on the american continent, then they would have a huge bonus, compared to the other civs starting in the old world.

If you download a mod, which works for version 3.13 or older then it should work fine. If you download a mod, which only works on version 3.13, then i don´t think it will work.

The sronger your culture, the more resistant you are from that happening. Or you can always just capture their cities by force.

Yeah i do that sometimes. Mostly if the AI has taken up most of my most important cities, exept the capital and pillaged a lot of my valuable resources. And if you haven´t been smart enough to create a strong enough military to stand against that enemy, then there is no point in playing those...

You have to choose your civics according to the current situation. You also have to keep an eye on how high or low the upkeep of the particular civic is. If you can´t afford it, perhaps it´s better to use another with a lower upkeep.
