Early city defenses are SO OP. You literally can't take a city before Horsemen. All the AI needs to do is sit in a city with one archer and boom, you can't take a city. THEY DON'T EVEN NEED WALLS. Battering rams barely do anything. Just sit in your city with a slinger and two shot Warriors and...
Hmm, you're correct in that the AI does use the music censorship card. However, if I can get Rock Bands early enough the AI stands no chance.
Even if the AI stops giving me Great Works, if I'm getting so many great person points that doesn't really stop me.
So it definitely seems true that for...
I've noticed that the AI in Civ VI seems a little bit too passive. Remember in Civ V when you were near victory and the AIs would declare war on you? Not in Civ VI. I just played a game where I was playing Hojo, running away in culture and none of the AIs cared.
None of them declared war, none...
I've been trying to go for a culture victory lately; but I'm struggling. I always end up with in the same situation; I have twice as much culture and tourism than any other Civ yet can't seem to get the victory. For instance in my last game as India, I have around 1300 culture and 900 tourism...
I don't know about you, but lately Civ VI is seeming like a waste of time to me. It seems like no matter what you do the AI always does better. No matter how fast you rush Writing some AI on the other continent has 3 great scientist points. No matter how much you rush Astrology, some AI beats...
Seriously, I hate loyalty. What is fun about taking a city and 5-10 turns later it rebels with the MOST ADVANCED UNITS of the time? It's not fun to me. In the early game there's literally no counter. You put a governor in there, select all the policies, nope still rebel.
It's just an awful game...
That might be the case, but this is before it is even possible for the AI to found a government. I don't have the Babylon DLC so it's not that.
I don't think the AI could've gotten Political Philosophy that early either. I literally beelined straight to Mysticism to the get the +2GSP per turn...
Okay, here's the situation. I'm playing GS on Emperor. I'm playing with Pericles. I just got Mysticism a few turns ago and built a Campus immediately after I got writing. Yet, somehow there's an AI somewhere making 4.6 Great Scientist points? How?
There's no way the AI could've gotten a...
Do barbarians affect the AI in Civ VI? It doesn't seem so to me. I've found that regardless of if I play with Barbarians on or off the AI still performs basically the same. Even with barbarians on, the AI still seems to expand like crazy to me. Don't get me wrong, I can deal with the barbarians...
I might try to focus more on eurekas early like you said. However, I find that because of the barbarians a lot of the early eurekas are difficult to get. For instance, some early eurekas require you to work resources. However, when your empire is being raided by the barbarians and the AI is...
Hmm, ignoring religion might work, I might have to try that in my next game. Generally in the early game though, I do go to war with the AI and try to get some extra cities. In my last game it was Gorgo. I dealt with the barbarians, took a few cities, made a lot of campuses and yet I still see...
I've tried game after game, but I just don't think I can get into Civ VI. At least not against the AI. Civ V BNW had its issues, but I prefer it to Civ VI any day. My biggest problem is it seems like no matter how much work you put into something; you're behind the AI. If I have 5 campus cities...
Perhaps it does make the game harder. But personally, I find fighting off an AI Civ easier than fighting off barbarians. Perhaps if the barbs started getting aggressive after a
civilization discovers Masonry it would be better.
I've tried rushing a few units to try and take out the barbarians...
I've been playing a lot of Civ VI lately and I just can't enjoy the game with barbarians on. I understand they're meant to add challenge; but it just seems unfair. You already have to deal with the AI beating you to religion, the AI teching super fast and the inevitable DoW from your aggressive...
Yeah, I agree that the wonders are kind of uninteresting.
I also get the feeling that I don't care which tech I choose.
In Civilization V for science victory; there was a particular tech beeline. You would beeline Education, Scientific Theory, then Plastics. This would give you all your...
