Hey, so its been awhile since I've played C2C and have a lot of good memories enjoying the mod (big thanks to the modders who put so much time into it). From what I've heard there has been growth in the number of concepts and features over the years. For someone diving into C2C after several...
Thanks everyone! Yeah I remember C2C being huge and always adding new features years ago, I can only imagine how many features they have now. Honestly sounds like AND would be easier to tackle with a busy schedule.
@Arakhor Definitely played through the prehistoric age a couple times since...
I've played civ for years and civ 4 is still my favorite in a series, especially enabling some of the larger mods. Looking to get back into the game after some time. Given both AND and C2C are huge and fairly time consuming mods, looking into what is the difference between the two. Also given...
It seems like earlier civics have more production bonuses, so when you start switching to new civics in renassiance and later there is a relative decrease in production (slavery and caste have a fair mount of production bonuses). Later civics do provide more gold, but I have more than enough...
If the main bottleneck is graphics, perhaps the graphics card is the bottleneck, although tbh I'm not clear on how intensive C2C is on the graphics card.
Hi, picked this up again after a while. A few may remember I wanted to contribute, I still do, but it won't be for a while (own project+school means no free time).
The improvements since the last time I played it have been great. It seems the crime special buildings are more balanced, and I...
I think Civ4 came out before widespread use of multiple cores, so I don't know if Civ4 is capable of running on multiple cores. I do know that multi-threaded applications are significantly more complex than single thread applications. The reason is that CPUs access memory on the RAM, if only a...
@AIAndy- This is just a thought, I'm not obviously not familiar with the code so there may be a reason this isn't done. For techs, couldn't you make each tech an instance of a tech class and make the unit images building images and so forth part of that object? That way when the tech is...
Yeah I'm familiar that it does that already with queues, since this would be a new pop up box I figured I'd have to readd that in myself. The check box issue is a good point, I could stick with the other idea and simply make them images/words you click which are added to an internal queue...
Not really, ever since the Prehistoric start I've found barbarian civilizations to be harmless and hemmed in by the roaming animals, so they generally becoming peaceful by the time I contact them. Even then they are generally small harmless civilizations. I also don't find nearly as many...
I guess a bit of background for the modders: I'm a third year Computer Science student, the upcoming semester is the first semester I'm taking all upper division classes.
Hmm, I'll definitely build a wonder since thats easy and self-contained. However I would like a code oriented task...
I think its a coordinated assault by civs, not by barbarians, so they'd still be limited by their military power. Alliances should probably be introduced earlier on or else it will constantly be the smaller civs collectively cannibalizing any larger civ.
So as I mentioned to Koshling via PM I'd like to help out with this mod. I was instructed that working on some projects is a good confidence building measure. As such it seems the futuristic diplomacy wonders has not been completed, I could work on that. There is a guide for building techs, and...
Will there be any emphasis on preventing a runaway effect? I enjoy later techs but by then I'm usually either hopelessly behind or far ahead. Actually this is quite a recent problem since in my previous games I found the AI was able to conquer other civilizations, allowing them to play catch up...
