Will Civ V be better than Civ IV?

I have faith. It looks like Sid is making sure to appeal to the core demo of Civ instead of pulling what Will Wright did with Sim City and dumbing it down to the point of killing a franchise (Sim City 4 - amazing, Sim City Societies - pile of garbage). I like a lot of the changes with Civ 5...

    People dislike seafood?

Seafood is a pain, because even if their bonus is nice, you normally have to deal with significantly more cost/sea squares that are far less productive and can't be really upgraded or used without significant technology and infrastructure. However, once I get Sid's sushi, seafood is worth its...

    Is overpopulation cause for concern?

Population naturally levels off as nation's develop economically. The western nations and Japan had their growth spurts and aside from the US (still growing with immigration) have leveled or are declining in population. As the economy improves in poorer countries and having lots of children for...

the fall of America and the rise of ....

The US isn't going to fall. It probably won't be the unquestioned number one super power, but be the one of several powerful global players (China, India, EU (if they can stay together)). Debt issues are not confined to the US and are shaking other Western nations significantly more than the US...

    Hitler.

The forced industrialization slaughter millions, particularly Ukraine. Exporting all your agricultural goods (including the domestic supply) to build an industrial base is pretty disastrous to the people. Also Stalin was a paranoid bastard, and thought everybody opposed him resulting in millions...

What is more powerful, Knowledge or land?

Land is much more important. My favorite Civ is Germany I expand as much as I can early on. Make sure I sit on a Great Merchant and Great Engineer, and make sure I'm not dead last in techs (normally mid level - leaning towards the upper half). Make a beeline to get the techs for Mining Inc. and...

    Logic,reasoning, and universal health care

I'm assuming you were dealing with some minor problem or a routine checkup type. If you are diagnosed with a severe illness, there is no better place to get treated than the US.

Can the United States function without corporations?

Well we did exist before corporations so we could function, but we wouldn't function nearly as well as corporations are the most investment friendly business entity.

    USA Digital TV switch

Quoted for truth. How anybody hasn't seen any notice of this is proof some people must actually live under rocks.

    Religulous

I refused to watch it after his interview on Jon Stewart. He wouldn't even briefly entertain the idea that people can use religion in their personal lives to help themselves, the impression I got was you either agree with him or you're dumb.

As a child, did your parents spank you?

Only a couple of times. I was a quick learner and realized bad behavior had consequences. Worked really well, and will do the same thing with my kids if they act up.

You have to be rich to be poor.

What also isn't mentioned is how local city governments fight these big retailers who can bring low prices to those who need it most because it competes with the labor interests of the city. Like Chicago fighting the building of a Walmart in the city.
