:\ reservations were still unconfirmed earlier today, but it got to the point where it felt like holding potential players on much longer would be bad for the NES. Maybe a secondary European power? Zahn is good. Stover is also good, and has something of a different bent to his works. I think that the Thrawn trilogy is kind of de rigueur reading for anybody interested in the Star Wars EU.
That's a very good question. Stover's Revenge of the Sith book is very good. So's Zahn's Dark Force Rising. And for pure lulz it's hard to beat Allston's Iron Fist or Starfighters of Adumar. So, short answer: uh, I dunno.
